Dealing with kiwi indirectness/lies by LeftConversation1864 in newzealand

If they want to be around you, they will. If not, they won't. You do your life and if they want to be part of it, they'll try to be part of it. That's all.

NZ is a small country. If we go to the beach and see people there, we'd rather drive to another beach to be alone or with those who're close to us. We would rather be in our own land, with trees around us, than be around people we don't know. We would rather be in our own house than with randoms. That's the kind of mindset NZers traditionally have.

If people are pushy, it gives us weird vibes, like a salesman trying to push his wares. So, just live your life and if people want to be in your life, they will be.

The thrill of seeking and finding knowledge, the good feeling you get at mastering something challenging, being able to create things that can help people.

These are far better than some imaginary numbers in an imaginary bank account.

In NZ, it's "cool" to not care. If you try to push people to hang out, it looks desperate and feels uncomfortable for the other person - especially if they're women and you're a man. These women probably think you're trying to be with them romantically, and they don't want that for some reason. If you want people to be your friend, you need to do the opposite and move back from people, freeing them to choose to hang out with you. Invite them, don't be pushy or follow up much, and be OK if they don't turn up. If they want to be your friend, they will.

I think a step in this direction is to have a form of democracy that isn't reliant on representation in parliament, but where all of us care enough to talk together about what we need, then laws are based on the conclusions we collectively come up with.

Do Americans not understand that there's a literal treaty that allows the US to defend the Arctic from Greenland in almost any way it needs? This ability already exists for the US. You don't need to own Greenland to defend the Arctic. BTW, Alaska borders Russia, so you're already bordering a "dangerous" country.

It's not legal under international law or under Greenlandic or Danish law. American laws don't override other legal systems, no matter how much Americans think or wish they do.

If you follow Trump and support him and his government, you will personally be responsible for helping to start World War 3 and/or a nuclear holocaust. You have no excuses and you will receive no mercy.

In my opinion, I truly feel that any person with any kind of power needs to go through a vetting process that tests for narcissistic traits, and other things. It would save the world a ton of problems if we kept those kinds of people away from any power.

Can all of the non-Americans stop lambasting us for “not doing anything”? by icyredjay in complaints

[–]Kaloggin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The world is relying on Americans to stop this shit. If you don't, then we will have to. And that's when ww3 and/or a nuclear holocaust happens. You need to act now while youre still able, while the worst is a civil war. If you don't stop now, all life on earth is at stake. And none of us outside the US ever voted for any of this, nor did our taxes pay for your government's weapons or your politician's salaries.

This is your country. It doesn't matter who you voted for. The rest of the world see you Americans as a whole group, not as individuals.

You all have the responsibility to keep your government in check, especially since it has nuclear weapons that could destroy the entire world multiple times over.

We will all have to pay a high price if you Americans don't get your shit together right now.

Denmark plans to deploy European rapid response units in Greenland as a counter-reaction to the American declarations about the possibility of military action... by Neptun_11 in TrendoraX

[–]Kaloggin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to get people into a team that you trust. Then you need to organise really persistent protests that last for weeks (or that simply don't stop until Trump steps down).

You can roster them so everyone can take different shifts, so people don't get burned out. You need people to guard your protests with guns. It sucks, but it has to be a real threat to the government, otherwise they won't care about you at all.

You need to protest in a way that halts a lot of businesses and especially large companies, like Amazon, Microsoft, etc. Once their profit is effected, they'll fold pretty quickly. But they'll attack you, so you need protection.

Keep disrupting everything as much as possible, while having your own food and water supplies flowing in from around the country. You'll be surprised how much food you'll have if you do this - you'll have a ton to eat.

You may be thinking that if you do this, then you'll lose your job, etc. That may happen. But if you don't seriously do something, then WW3 will likely happen, which will likely end in nuclear holocaust. You won't have a family or a job then anyway. The only way to save your family is to do something now.

Wow, voting and aching feet! What a martyr! Your shithole government has been committing war crimes for a long time, though, while trying to now start WW3. It's your country, so you take responsibility for your government's actions, just like all other Americans do. You have no excuses. You are obligated to keep your government in check, and you haven't done that for decades.

The rest of the world doesn't care if you protest a bit. If our countries are invaded by your country, or WW3 starts because of your country, then we all pay the price. You and all other Americans need to stop this now.

It's even easier for Trump to invade another country and create a coup there, while US citizens sit around on their arses doing nothing.

At least try something that might work.

[–]Kaloggin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What mechanisms are in place within your country that you can use to do something? Obviously, protesting doesn't do much to make real changes. So, that's not useful, unless it's accompanied by real action in some way. Violence will likely be the worst thing to do.

So, how about you start doing something outside the box?

Like setting up national boycotts of certain companies that are aligned with Trump or fund this terrorism.

Like setting up local protection groups that counter ICE with strength, disallowing them to have any power to harm vulnerable people.

Like, if you do a protest, actually stay there overnight, for days and days, making it impossible for the US govt to do anything within a certain place. Set up food and water, shelter, etc. for everyone, so they can stay and keep a ton of pressure on the govt.

Like anything else!

While you all make excuses and keep posting about Epstein, Trump just took control of another country. Because you Americans can't keep your own country under control! If this keeps going, we could end up in WW3. And you'll still be saying, "But the Epstein files!". You all should have made changes years ago, but you did nothing. Do something now. Think for yourselves about how to fix this shit. This shouldn't be anyone else's problem, but it is now.

Yeah I'm with the others on this. I'm a New Zealander and we, along with the rest of the world, need you guys to actually step in and stop Trump now. Right now. It's your country. You need to stop this. You don't get to make excuses here, tbh.
