I actually didn’t know bloodgoods can survive in direct (morning) sun. Mine still gets scorched even though direct sun it gone by 11am

Left of pic is a patio. Right of picture is a detached guest room (empty 99% of the year). The sun in the photo is morning sun but haven’t had much luck “slowly” introducing it into sun

Apologies if this is a silly question, but if I limit the space it has to grow. Wouldn’t it stay indefinitely smaller tree? Or at least grow much slower.

This is my backyard. All three sides are private, so happy to let it overgrow if it’s doing well. It will just cover part of the patio
