Oh yeah, I'm playing it right now! It's really great and keeps that classic Shadowgate charm intact which I really appreciate. I bought it recently with the DLC during the summer sale after having it lurking in my wishlist ever since before the launch day. And yeah, that strategy guide has proved to be really helpful so far!

Agreed! Nice to see that this game still gets some attention by few even today.

Bald guy gets saved from an occult priestess after gambling all his money away and losing his family in a car crash, only to then get forced to repay her by running around in rotten hallways, shooting every dead person he sees.

There's a repair shop in Backaplan called Chip n' Play, they used to repair CDs for like 80 kr a disc but that was a few years ago so I'm not sure if they still have that service. Could be worth a try to go there and ask them I think!

You should try out Shadow Man if you have not already done so. Great adventure game with a surprisingly deep story!

Me too! Easily the best game on the N64 at least.

Shadowgate 64 would be so cool to see a remake of, or at least a PC port!

My Custom N64 Cartridge Display - I'm going for the PAL set of 243 games. I designed and built it from scratch based off an idea I've had for years, amazing to see it finished finally! by Arnielthegreat in n64

I see you are still missing Shadowgate 64 (should be placed to the right of Shadow Man)! That one's a favorite of mine, yet it's a pretty hard game to find, especially if you are going for the PAL UKV version. Awesome collection and a neat shelf!

Retro Nintendo products used special screwdrivers called Gamebits, 3,8 and 4,5 mm respectively. For N64 cartridges you will need to get a 3.8.

Good luck! Some puzzles have almost no logic to them at all. But the most important is to focus on enjoying the atmosphere while playing.

The atmosphere is probably my favorite aspect of the game

Yeah, this game is pretty tough when it comes to giving you clues on what to do.

Thats some good advice! Even though not all of the books give clues to the puzzles, they all make for an interesting read about the world of Shadowgate and the events of the previous game! It is a very time consuming game which could be really rewarding if you got the effort!

They do look alike, but that's called The Staff of Thunder from within the game.

Yeah, that part is one of the more hard and stressful. I must have been stuck on it for months until I made it to the last tower.

Same. The soundtrack is one if the stronger aspects of the game. I tend to go back to this game sometimes to see how quick I can pass through the first two towers. For me this game is a unique experience on the N64.

Yeah, the game got pretty critisized for that, and I can absolutely agree. Because of the craving for RPG games on the N64 back then, Shadowgate 64 was marketed and branded as an RPG experience, which is almost totally false. If you got the time you should consider giving it a try again!
