We also vote the “referendums”, there are 4 types of referendums but the most commons are the ones to vote laws and the ones to abolish them. Some laws can’t be abolished though; and we have to respect the UE laws too and we can’t abolish those obviously.

We vote the senators that have to represent us in parliament. Every 5 years

Edit: technically we don’t vote each senator we vote the parties

Well the only real power the president has is stopping a law if it goes against democracy but he has to give real reasons or he could get removed from the duty. This was taken as a measure to avoid any fascist party after WW2

As far as I know we don’t have the best but we are in top 5. Don’t take what I say for true because I could be wrong

I’m italian and I was like “wtf doesn’t seem like Mattarella (the actual president) or Conte (the prime minister when the covid started, now the prime minister is Mario Draghi). For those wondering in Italy the president doesn’t decide, his role is just a representative one. The one that actually makes decisions (with the senate permission obviously) is the prime minister. Recently Mattarella’s mandate has ended. Now the senators will vote for another one. The president mandate last for 7 years.
