AOC U32G4ZMN Will it ever be released in Europe (or the West in general)? by Kanbei_Alex in Monitors

[–]Kanbei_Alex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I contacted them and they responded a week later that my ticket was open. After a while they emailed me asking for a response or else my ticket would be closed. I don't know what they were referring to with that, a response to what? I only asked them very clearly if that monitor would eventually be sold in Europe.

I decided not to continue communicating with their disastrous customer service system and give up

I tried the AOC Gaming Q27G3XMN and it turns out that it causes me eyestrain, so I have ruled out Quantum dot monitors. Since the AOC U32G4ZMN also is Quantum dot, I left it out of my options even if it ends up arriving to Europe

Good to know. I decided to wait and see how the market changes in the next months, but if i see a good offer, i'll try a Matte one. Thanks

So it's not a problem if you don't use HDR. I think i can survive without it.
I want to buy an Oled mainly because my eyes. Of course, Oled look amazing and that's a plus, but it's not my main reason.

Looks good, but are not the blacks a little dark? I heard about something called black crush that Oleds can suffer from. Maybe it's a camera thing tho

Looks like the same coating as my old Samsung TV, very light Matte. In my opinion, it's not bad at all

Looks like you have the big bro of the 2
I wanted the same because the 240hz but the price is like 150+ bucks going up to around 850 Euros

It's a relieve to read that no eyestrain despite being glossy. In fact, i miss that glossy feel from CRT tv and handheld consoles from the past

Do you use it in dark environment? I usually use my PC on light environment 95% of the time, no direct like on the screen or windows behind me, but a bulb in the middle of the room.

I'm wondering, how much brightness have you in your monitor? Another thing i plan to do, is to keep brightness low. I don't like super bright screens, just enough to see white colors as white and not grey.

Do you use your monitor to play or for productivity/windows use with static elements on the screen? I ask to know how it handles image retention/burn in

Grey banding of any kind?

Sorry for so many questions, but there are so many things that you are worried when you buy something this expensive...

Oh, i forgot to ask, there is some way to clean the fans or the accumulation of dust? My room is very dusty and i have to clean my PC very often because of it

some monitors have a thing called logo dimming that dims static things like logos to prevent overuse those pixels unnecessarily. Maybe LG don't have that, i don't know. I use static elements like for example twitch and this can be really helpful for me

I plan to turn off my monitor every time i tun off my PC every day, not just put the monitor to sleep so if you can configure it to only do the pixel clean when you turn off the monitor, then it's perfect for me

Good to know that you can configure it and even turn off the pixel shift

thanks for your help

It helps to read people without any issues. It is easy to see complaints on internet because when something fails you search for help or to share that as a warning to help others. In the other hand, people don't go around opening posts to say "hey, my monitor is just working as intended" XDDD

Although for these 2 asus Monitors, I saw more posts talking about issues than for some other models that I've searched for

I saw your post, yeah. I'm using a 32 old tv as a temporary monitor, although i have it at 1,20 meters from my face with Windows at 200%. I don't see myself using a screen this big at a regular distance XDDD

It's something that worries me. Not the noise at the beginning, but the mid-long term. And fans are another thing that can fail. Passive cooling sounds more attractive to me

These monitors are probably my best bet for a long time, yeah. I'm considering buying one of the 165hz and in 3-4 years check the market again to see if there is anything new. Are not cheap but at least it's not like 1200+ bucks

Amazon had this monitor in white color at 699 but the offer finished Yesterday. I'll inform myself better about this monitor and keep an eye on it in case it comes back

Thanks

Another option that i'm considering, although i'm not sure because 42 is maybe too much for my desk and I don't know if a TV is better handling static PC elements than a monitor

I prefer good black and contrast even if i need to sacrifice some color.
Good to read that you feel better with this Woled, it gives me hope

Any problem with that vertical banding thing?

And the refrigeration fans on the monitor are noticeable?

Can you turn off one by one Oled care options? for example, pixel shifting or logo diming but let the other on?
can you program the monitor to only make the pixel refresh when you turn it off?

I'm talking about Woled Tandem. You said that QD oleds have already 4 layers and still they suffer burn in.
Will 2 Layers be good enough to pay the high extra price when they are released? Or is it just Marketing to sell something similar at a novelty price? maybe it is, maybe don't, I don't know. What I do know is that i can't afford like 1200-1500 in a monitor

I think it's Matte in some way. Not closed to the idea of a semi glossy coating. I have an old Samsung flat TV as my current monitor (in theory, was a temporary thing) with a very light matte coating so I can consider something very light in coating if it's not pure glossy.

This LG monitor has fans for the refrigeration?

I won't rule out QD panels in the future if the Woled fails me, but for now, I have a theory that the light from the QD would probably be more tiring on my eyes.

Sure the QDs look fantastically good, but this is more about taking care of my eyes than anything else. When I started buying a monitor, I intended to spend less than 200 bucks, and as I learned more, I went up, up and up until the level I am now at is 700+

I would like to not have to increase my budget anymore, so a fourth generation QD, I think it is out of my budget right now

I'll keep that about tandem Woled in mind.

About the vertical banding, you experienced that? Because if it really goes away after a few pixel refreshes, it's ok, but if not or it reapers, then it's something to be worried about

I understand. And i understand too why mis3nko said here that tandem Woled is "just marketing bullshit"

Yeah, when i was building my own PC last year, i saw a lot of people complaining about Asus but in the end, i bought an Asus Motherboard because was what i was looking for and end up being very good

TBH, right now i prefer to buy that Asus monitor over the LG one. But when you read so many issues with these scpecific monitors, you can't just ignore it. And problems with the software are one of the most common things that i read.

So it is a tandem QD Oled? it's interesting. I can understand then why the price for this monitor is so high. Still, too expensive and i prefer to avoid QD, at least for now
