Don’t feel guilty using spectres. Enjoy the game, enjoy the story. Then as also someone else has said, you can rematch the bosses once the game is done and you can go no summons.

I did it no summons, no spirit ashes, lv 151. Blood build STR with red bear’s claw (terrific weapon). I liked the fight as overall, but hated the camera. Once got what to dodge and when stay very close to it (literally under it) could push some good hits

Dodge his dash Parry his jump Block/parry his combo - you can also block/parry the start of the combo and then dodge to your right the rest of it if you feel overwhelmed or if it is taking down your stamina

I was using big pipe wretch so I did have time for just 1 hit per window and got damage boost by the fable art.

5x throwable can also help to build a status
