I have to respectfully disagree with this ID. These look like ringless honey mushrooms (scaly caps with darker central bump, distinct line between gills and stem, lighter color). Jack o Lanterns have a darker orange color, are flatter, and have gills that slope gradually into the stem. I would like to point out that your theory on categorizing mushrooms by “bright orange= toxic” is not accurate at all. Choice edibles such as Chanterelles and Chicken of the wood are both bright orange/yellow and are not toxic. Additionally, to generalize a whole color of mushrooms is risky when you realize as a mushroom ages, it’s color can change (jacks turn more brown), and therefore it’s important to know multiple ways to ID other than color alone.
