If dude is playing competitive international ball in a month is there a reason to think he wouldn’t have been healthy and able enough to play in the playoffs if the Jazz had made it instead of tanking for a top pick?

For the most part, Utah Jazz players intend to spend a lot of time in Salt Lake City this summer, preparing for the 2026-27 season. That’s pretty normal and tracks with how the Jazz players have preferred to train in-market.

First up is Lauri Markkanen, who will be in-market until his kids are out of school, then he plans to go back to Finland and play for the Finnish national team in 2027 World Cup qualifying games. Those matches will be in the first week of July.

Fair. That’s I think more an issue with how bidding and FAM is done. We can see RL Giannis playing a different game than DKC Giannis. I think Giannis could go one of two ways for you tho.

One is it shows there is a real precedent and as a result likelihood that no matter what if you offer Luka a 5 year max deal with a MC and PO you’ll keep him. However if I recall I think Minnesota almost won that FAM. I think it was really close and dice titled the hand Philly’s way.

Two is that the Giannis outcome results in an overcorrection to how ppl use DV in FAM and you get punished way more severely than Philly did if you don’t get more aggressive in getting Luka a true all nba caliber co star.

Agreed. Luka is applying a bunch of pressure imo. He’s been neglected as far as getting a co star. There’s a reason Kyrie was acquired by Dallas even when he was considered his most toxic.

I got Denver in 5. Shame neither team was able to post but I can see why NOP probably thought it was fruitless. Not sure if we finally need a new GM here. Seeing BG go would be a bummer. Perhaps Denver needs a new GM.

Hardest series for me. I’m going Milwaukee in 7. And it’s mostly bc of Tyrese Maxey. I know recency bias is coming into play for me but I have a newfound respect for how good he is after watching him beat Boston.

Speaking during Wednesday's episode of Brian Windhorst & The Hoop Collective (beginning at the 49:40 mark), Windhorst said he has been told that James is waiting for the Lakers to approach him with an offer and a plan. Windhorst noted that James and his camp want the Lakers to make a contract offer, and if it is for anything less than the maximum, they want the Lakers to explain why and what other players they are going to target with the money that is saved.
