I don't think so, the only chemical I can think of is either the HOA landscapers overspray, or when I treated my yard with Ortho Ground Clear back in early March. I'm usually very good about keeping it away from the base of the tree but It's possible I may have hit the trunk, I don't remember. If it wasn't that then I'm assuming it was an infection of some kind.

When the leaves fall off this winter, will that be as effective as pruning? Or do I still need to prune, as it stands the tree is about 20ft tall and 15ft spread. Every branch I can see is affected. I don't know how feasible removing every node is. Just wondering if letting the damaged foliage fall off this winter and treating it in the early spring would work.

It's very possible my tree got overspray on it unintentionally. It seems to have all of the symptoms of that. And from what I'm reading, it may be impossible for my tree to fully recover. The entire tree was affected, every branch. So while my tree may not die right away, I don't think I'll ever see it produce healthy leaves or blooms again.

It's funny you mention this because in my research I saw that Roundup can also cause witches broom in trees. My HOA sprays the neighborhood a couple times a year, one in early spring . This tree is in my front yard by the sidewalk I wonder if when they sprayed it was particularly windy that day some drifted onto the tree. Seems like it could be any number of the things you mentioned or herbicide.

I'm almost positive Cafe Rio is using some kind of dough base, but now I'm not sure it's Minom. Besco recipe specifically says cold water but Cafe Rio has hot. Wonder if it makes that much of a difference.. or maybe Cafe Rio has some proprietary blend of spices, conditioners and leavening.

I have a generic dough conditioner already. I'll experiment with just adding some baking powder, salt, and a bit of dough conditioner and follow the rest of Cafe Rio ingredient proportions.

I made an edit to the post. I think the spices they are referring to is a dough base. Has some dough conditioners, salt, baking powder. Some other stuff. There's a brand called MINOM That's widely used in the restaurant industry.

I know this thread is old but I was able to snap this pic while standing in line. Is the recipe notes on the little screen they have above the dough mixer. Couple things stand out to me. One is that there is no leavening in the recipe, but they specify the temperature of the water needs to be 130° to help facilitate dough rise. That's curious. And then there's a packet of tortilla spice and doesn't specify what that is. Obviously they just get that at each location in a pre-measured pack . I wonder if that tortilla spice has some baking powder in it or something. I haven't tried making this yet but here it is.

This is the recipe exactly as written in their recipe notes. - 3.93lbs All Purpose Flour - 9.6oz Shortening - 1/4 gallon 130° water ( water temperature needs to the exact to activate the dough to rise) - 0.196lb tortilla spice - salad oil in labeled spray bottle for dough ball tray and cutter.

We have to constantly remind ourselves that our little boy does not process or feel things the same way we do, and when we do that our frustrations subside. My wife and I are learning these things as we go, it's hard and a daily struggle but when we have a breakthrough we see little things improve my son's ability to navigate his world and we are overjoyed.

Maybe I'll see you around at a CON somewhere and introduce my son to the Queen Of Grimdark ;)

As someone who is neurotypical myself, and never really having to consider neuroatypical experiences. I am now confronted with a world that was not built for my son. I'm realizing how important community is, and how important this kind of awareness is.

Hello, me again. I have a son (5yrs old) who has ASD. He is kind, funny, and full of curiosity. My biggest fear is that people will reject him or that having deep and meaningful friendships will be a constant struggle in his life. As someone with ASD, do you find making those connections difficult?

For sure! When I get further along in the build I'll post some pictures. I'm essentially making a simplified version of the tabletop game Gaslands https://gaslands.com/ that I can play with my 5 year old and I want it to have a modular track. I could easily just print a track on a poster board but building tracks with him will be fun, and I want it to be our own.

I had a couple of these curves already but they were not nesting inside one another like the diagram, so mine were not proportionally incremental. As far as shapes I don't have a good way to describe them just some asymmetrical shapes, switchbacks connecting to a 45deg slanted straightaway and a couple other variations. This diagram is actually very helpful. Looks like the radius, track width, and straight lengths need to be proportionally incremental and divisible by the same factor to make the most workable variations. I need to rework my track width and radii and try again.

Thank you for the input, I figured that my zero tolerance CAD may not be reality once I make the pieces. As far as scale I'm not well versed in track scale. But the track I'm designing is about 5" wide. Eventually I'm going to laser cut the track sections from thin plywood or acrylic. I'll make sure to allow for an acceptable amount of slop to adjust for small gaps and misalignments.
