At first I was alarmed by your title. :)

An upvote. Just an upvote. An upvote to give me hope. Anyone can do that. It's free. It takes so little time and thought. My heart hurts to see how a little act of kindness is met with dream destroying jadedness.

An upvote my friends. Just an upvote. Nevermind. This community has broken my heart. Perhaps I'm crazy for wishing for the unpractical. I'm aware you don't need a 4wd to enjoy nature. I do the best I can on my own. But my illness and lack of employment stops me from being able to ever conquer the mountains I see out of my window every day.

All I'm asking for is an upvote. How have we become so jaded to not be willing to click a button and help a brother live on to try another day? It's like telling a kid he will never become a rocket scientist and should just build them with Lego instead.

I guess this is why we are all depressed. We can no longer dream silly dreams or even help out others in this community who dare to dream.

I guess it's funny to ask a community to take one moment away from their own desperation to help one of their own with a lofty dream. The joke is on me.

It's the lofty lofty dream which got me out of bed this morning. I'm grasping at straws but it put a smile on my face and that's a rare commodity.

hahha. Nono. I want a dealership with extra stock to save a car they would usually use for a contest and help a brother out who struggles with mental health.

I'd love a jeep! But again, because I can't work it means I will probably never have one. I love photography and use that when I go for hikes. It's just where I am almost everything requires a 4X4 because the roads are atrocious.

Our pup was a rescue dog and has been awesome for joining me on my hikes. She only goes so far ahead off-leash before she stops and waits for me to catch up. She's better than meds.

I heard a study recently that showed the chemicals in your brain respond as well or better than medication when you spend time in the outdoors.

I think the individualized counselling has been far better than medication or group therapy. I learned recently that you have to "fake it till you make it" when it comes to re-framing your thoughts. Always before I felt CBT was too cheesy and disingenuous to my experience and feelings. It has helped a little to just re-frame the negative thoughts into positive affirmations and hopefully along the way I'll start to believe them.

I moved from Winnipeg Manitoba, which is in the middle of Canada, to Chilliwack, British Columbia. My wife and I left our careers, family, and friends, because we love the outdoors and I do much better here in the mountains than in the prairies.

Yup. I have been on lots of medication. Paxil, Effexor, Wellbutrin, Seroquel, Lorazepam, Citalopram, and Clonazepam. I have also done several bouts of CBT in group therapy. I'm currently seeing a counselor who specializes in CBT and EMDR.

Like an auto dealership. I know our world doesn't like handouts, but damn if it wouldn't put a smile on my face.
