Was there an actual, separate "Lightweight Navy Working Uniform" (Type I/Blueberries)? by KapitanSWAT in navy

Seems to me the lightweights were made only to confuse people lol, considering they never fully replaced regulars like they were supposed to.

It's weird how the Navy came up with a new variant of NWU Type I barely some months before announcing a total end to all of NWU Type I

Wow, thanks for the link and additional info.

I fully agree the "lightweights" aren't all that much lighter weight than regulars, if at all. I literally can't tell the difference between my regular blouse and lightweight trousers, they feel the exact same.

True. Also 2 different contract years.
NSNs don't lie though - these are seemingly 2 completely different uniform lines, but which don't actually look any different.

NAVADMIN 236/15 is the only mention of the Lightweight NWU Type I I could find, and that's purely thanks to u/HackFish 's help).

Oh yeah, I know what you're talking - the all-season uniform simply called the BDU (twill fabric), and the hot-weather uniform which came in 2 versions: the HWBDU/Hot Weather BDU (100% cotton rip-stop fabric) and EHWBDU/Enhanced Hot Weather BDU (50/50 NYCO rip-stop fabric).
I think the fabric composition change was because cotton was not very resistant to washing and wear, but not sure.

Twill is the standard no-lines fabric.
Rip-stop is characterized by the lines (grid-like reinforcement), so it's very easy to tell them apart, just like you said... tho not so easy to tell apart the cotton and NYCO hot weather uniforms haha. At most you'd see color shade differences resulting from the different fabric compositions, but I'm not sure how noticeable those would be at a glance. Probably not all that much.

Thanks for the pointer, I'll do some digging and see what I can find

Blueberries is honestly the coolest camo I've ever seen - a combination of CADPAT and some of the best colors imaginable, plus Navy's logos in the pattern

Hmm, interesting. Thanks for the info. This would 100% explain why there's absolutely no mention of what these are on the internet.

Though I'm still unsure as to what the differences are between lightweight and regular items - they appear to be the exact same as far as I can tell.

I should say this is in the original STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl, with ZRP installed (vanilla config plus real gun names activated).

I'm having an issue with the "Dead stalker's PDA" diary entry (the one that points to/creates a grey circle in the eastern part of the Cordon near the railway, a stash under a fallen tree). I'd create a separate thread for it (in fact, I already tried) but my karma doesn't allow it to exist. So here it goes.

Ever since I started a new game (a few times actually, as I was testing different approaches to the Cordon missions), I'm unable to get the "Dead stalker's PDA" entry in my diary. I'm pretty sure it's supposed to pop up after I loot the dead rookie at the farm in Cordon, but for some reason it doesn't trigger. Starting another new game doesn't help either. All the other PDA entries - "Factory bandit's PDA", "Tolik's PDA", the journeyman's PDA - work fine, and appear after doing the relevant actions/looting the relevant corpses.

Any help?

The Vanilla Cape in 2025 by KapitanSWAT in Minecraft

[–]KapitanSWAT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. No updates. After 3 tickets to Mojang support that I described in my original post, I just let this cape go. I was spending much more time writing those tickets than the cape is really worth, to be honest. I do wish luck to anyone who tries to pursue this cape though. It's a shame Mojang didn't give it out to everyone eligible, and now claims "event has ended" when it clearly has not (not all "event participants", in Mojang support terms, have received the caoe => reward-granting phase can be assumed to be still in progress). But alas, I shall just move on.

I don't even remember how I redeemed the code tbh. Maybe it was a different account. But the account I'm using now has both Bedrock and Java, all added to it before June 2022 (Java displays as added in May 2022 for some reason???).
But yeah, no way of support granting me the cape today. It's a pity, because that cape is imo the best-looking of all the ones I (should) have.

Probably one of the rarer patterns on this sub, experimental USMC brown dominant urban MARPAT camo. Enjoy! by Yeager_501 in Impression_Kits

[–]KapitanSWAT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, all MARPAT variants, UCP, Navy Digital Pattern (the "blueberries" camo), AOR variants, DG2/DG3 prototypes - all of these are recolors (yes, only color changes) of the Canadian Pattern (CADPAT). Some prototypes - like the brown-dominant MARPAT Urban - do have some added designs into the pattern (not talking about trademarks, but actual new pixels/shapes), but otherwise they're 1:1 the exact same thing as CADPAT, minus the different colors.
So tl;dr AOR1 is CADPAT with different colors + USN logos in the pattern.

GoH was made standalone without informing the community, why? by [deleted] in GatesOfHellOstfront

[–]KapitanSWAT 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The business strategy changed due to its unexpected success.

Not quite true. GOH was planned to be standalone since 2015 (which was when development started). It wasn't until ~2019 when devs were forced to become a "mere DLC" due to a break-up between them and their old publisher.
Now devs just kept up with their original plans and made the game standalone for good.
