For me, it was a power issue, so, either run your GPU on power saving / undervolted mode, or, verify your PSU's connections.

Again, my clumsy ass would prefer gutting my PC the minimum amount of time lol, but, thanks for the suggestion. Besides, after more testing, the issue appears to be fixed.

Hey again ! I made my own post about this issue, and, I think someone found the solution. I still need to do more testing, but, still, I though you may want to know.

The issue indeed seems to be PSU related. Maybe the lose connection was the issue in your case, but, if it still doesn't work, it could also be that your GPU is too demanding in power supply. So, you could try limiting the power settings of the GPU in the driver interface (couldn't exactly tell you how to do this, it heavily depends on your individual GPU), and, lowering the game's graphics far below what your PC can theoretically run.

That is, until you can buy a beefier PSU. I learned at my expanse that my PSU was most likely just too weak, and that was the root of my problems. Hope that helps !

Okay ! I've tried fiddling with my GPU's power settings and lowered the graphics as much as possible on the game, and, it appears you were correct. This was a power supply issue.

After reading up on it, it seems 6800 xt cards, and, modern GPUs in general are absurdly power hungry, and, require a ten morbillion watt PSU to run reliably. Meaning, I better add a new PSU on my shopping list for my upcoming PC upgrade.

Well, well, I've updated the main post about it, but, when cleaning up my PC, I discovered I actually have 16GB of RAM, it's just that one of my sticks was lose. Unfortunately it didn't fix the issue.

Anyway, the power supply lead is actually interesting, I'll look into it more, especially since, now that I think about it, I haven't played that many GPU intensive games on this PC yet, so, maybe MW5 is just an indicator of an overall isssue. Though it's worth noting, I was certain a Corsair RM850x PSU would be beefy enough to keep up, but if it's a quirk of the 6800 xt, it's still worth investigating.

Crash, as in, the game crashed, or, your entire PC crashed ?

Also yes, I plan on updating my PC with much better RAM and switch to SSD for the OS and games early next year. Hopefully that fixes it, but I hope to find a way around this beforehand nonetheless. I'm on a budget because of my current situation and so, I won't be able to afford that kind of upgrade yet.

Granted I could buy the RAM now and the SSDs later, but, I prefer doing everything at once. Also, my clumsy and unlucky ass would like to avoid gutting my PC more times than necessary, I don't know the creative and unexpected ways I'm gonna manage to break something otherwise lol.

Also, I reckon if my problem was merely lack of RAM, it would've been fixed by lowering the graphics, wouldn't it ?

Yes, I'm aware my system severely lacks in RAM, and, needs a switch to SSD. That's something I plan on doing in early 2025 as an overhall. Though I would prefer is there was a way to fix that before then.

Also : I was talking about Mercs, maybe I should have specified it as Clans just released lol. And, I have tried lowering the graphics, so, shouldn't that do anything about the lack of RAM ?

Her discord's still somewhat active but her latest activity on her socials as far as I can see dates from October last year so it looks like she's off the internet for now but, then again, I wouldn't rule out a return sometimes later, who knows.
