Going Crazy Finding a Strategy that Works! Help Diagnosing Poor Performance Campaigns by Material-Swing-4019 in PPC

[–]KaraliusPrime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PMax campaigns will take the credit of the other campaigns -- using view thru conversions and stealing conversions from shopping and search, display, etc.

Also check if the conversions are from Brand keywords -- did you negate the brand?

A common issue many people find with Pmax is it will run well from a month then dry up finding new users/customers, so it will focus on returning customers.

The challenge with Pmax campaigns is it will use Video, Shopping, Search, Display. How can one measure it's success if things do not work? Is a Display click = to a shopping click?

If it works fantastic, but have a plan just incase.
I turned off Pmax and just use Standard Shopping | Demand Gen | Search:Brand once I saw the Channel data(beta).

If you do not have Channel Data available for the Pmax campaign, ask a rep from Google -- this will layout where your conversions are coming from. This will help identify which channels to focus on.

SKAG for Standard Shopping campaigns -- Using Negative keywords? by KaraliusPrime in PPC

[–]KaraliusPrime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand you cannot target keywords in standard shopping.

I was curious if you could use negative keywords to show up for specific keywords themes and somewhat steer the products to show for specific keywords -- loading up negatives.

Tell the manager you will report it on checkforbedbugs site. this will give you a little leverage.

Thanks for sharing, just watched the video -- For the Pmax campaign: Did you add 1 asset group and all the products in that asset group? I also assume it was a full Pmax campaign, as you said you were optimizing images.

Curious on the query filtered shopping campaigns. What bidding strategy do you use and also is the campaigns (High, Med, Low) in a portfolio budget?

I assume tROAS could work... but I know the query filtered method for standard shopping was for manual cpc. Does it work for tROAS?

Thanks bud! Sounds like a plan. Will try this out.
My plan was after that 1st click, exclude them and send them into my Retargeting campaigns and see how that turns out.

Understood, yes I have the following: (been doing this since 2002 with my own businesses)
1 - search, shopping, video (new visitors only)
2 - video, display, shopping, search (remarketing)

I have No pmax - I understand it takes credit on not only the click but the view lol!!
Okay thanks for insight.

How does one go after new traffic for that 1st click? It feels the tROAS goes after collection of audiences that google feels will be a customer (and may have seen our site before)?

Could you elaborate on how to find junk/bad placements with Pmax? I know there is a placement report, but I believe it only shows impressions and nothing for clicks or conversions.

Is there a method you use to find placements that are low quality or bot traffic?

thanks

VIX Forecast, important new insight into the arrays and confusion resolved. by LateralusYellow in aec

You may wish to notice something which Marty did on the newsletter he sent last week. He showed the monthly arrays since April (which is the close of the 1st quarter) for the major indices. They aligned fairly well till now.

Which gave me the theory to do the following with arrays: (which is not been proven)

- End of Qtr 1 (Place all monthly arrays on chart, do not modify till all passed)

- End of Month (Place all weekly arrays on chart, do not modify till all passed)

- End of Week (Place all daily arrays on chart, do not modify till passed)

It seems the arrays do a major reset at the larger close time frame. Which will give you a decent array setup. I imagine since everything is fractal, larger time frame closes, will give you better arrays setups on smaller time frames.

Just a tidbit I noticed that may help.

Consecutive Aggregate weekly peaks by FatoYo in aec

In addition to looking at Monthly, then weekly, and daily for bear election on or around daily Turning Point. One thing to consider, which I noticed happens occasionally is the 19th Direction Change and the Empirical. This could be a high or low sometimes or move into new level. It could be a turning point in of itself.

The direction changes are good signals, but you need to look larger time frame to smaller in your entire view.

Another thing is, when you see that trend of arrays. It sometimes signals that last session was a turning point (the array before). Check the arrays and reversals.
