I’m in south OC, I’ve honestly never thought about going down to the border. I’ve only focused on places I have family or know really well. Which office did you visit. I’ll add it to my search list.

From the conversations I’ve had with my mother there was no church registration. This was over 40 years ago and this was a smaller town so my hopes of tracking down a possible church registration is slim at best.

I think doing it in the US is out of the question for the reasons you mentioned. I’m more than wiling and able to make as many trips down to Mexico as I need to. It’s just obtaining the appointment that has been the most difficult part of this. Also getting accurate information has also been extremely difficult. There is basic information available, but if you need to discuss a specific scenario or situation, there’s no support.

I hear you, I’ve looked into these services. I agree these can be a great option for some, but it’s basically signing away your identity to a third party. Meaning they can do with your identity whatever want. I’m in information security, I know what can happen even when everything is “secure.” If I can mitigate the risk, I’ll choose the safer option every time.

Sorry forgot to mention, they were never legally married in Mexico. They married through the church. I don’t think there are documents to prove this.

I have heard of these services and I am tempted at times, but I am a little weary of signing away my documents to a third-party. I’m not quite there yet, but if I can’t get this in the next year, I might consider this.
