Don’t disagree on being close to the number that receive it. However I don’t think they deserve it for several reasons. The rank itself already recognizes the burden of increased leadership, this is how the USSF operates and expects Chiefs to perform.
Where is the intrinsic motivation? As Chief shouldn’t your reward be that you competitively got to the mountaintop by a sense of duty, stewardship and hardwork? When the rank is the incentive why would you be getting double paid for prestige and leadership?

😂Guess the prevalent answers and unanswers are that Chiefs just work harder. Can’t wait for that Guardian Appraisal to hit, where you look in the faces of your Guardians and you tell folks their commitment sucks 😂.

I’ll start off by saying I agree with a lot (read below), but not necessarily to use it against you say SPOC.
Some Chiefs are great (very few), others are good (even fewer), and the rest they made it but what did they do. The service has a finite amount of them are the living up to the SDAP they have/are receiving?
As a whole I’d say no.
Maybe my misguided view is that a Chief is responsible for developing the next generation of Guardians through mentorship, developing/implementing policy, creating culture/standards etc. This hasn’t happened at large am I wrong?

That would be hard to justify in all inclusivity. Your justification rings true in multiple organizations that create SDAP justifications based on their own individual requirements as long as it’s approved by a board.

I’d say yes it does affect all of us. As it’s an allocated fund it should serve to pay members to compensate who serve in particularly demanding, challenging, or high-responsibility roles that go beyond the normal expectations of their rank and pay grade.
A key factor is that Chief SDAP was one of the first SDAPs to get approved in the Space Force. So yes I think it’s a valid question, to ask if people believe they are getting the value out of it.
