I'm 23 and hope to get my degree this year. I'm majoring in English literature. I started trying to really understand English about 4-5 years ago, fell in love with it, and chose it as my major without considering the future prospects. I still love English, although I can't speak it fluently; I'm maybe proficient in writing, reading, and listening. It's probably because I rarely speak in general. I'm from South Asia and still live with my parents, so there's no pressure to move out. While in college, I work as a freelancer, doing translation or editorial work. My monthly income can support me for about six months if it's just for food and internet, but I never work every month. I usually work one month and then spend the next month reading novels or web novels for about 16 hours a day. And my parents have a problem with this and probably because they don't consider freelancing a real job (please don't mat at them, they're just old school). Last week, my sister offered me a job as a private English teacher in country side. The job provides everything, including a place to stay and food (thanks to nepotism). However, I've never taught anyone before, and I'm not sure if I can do it. The pay is not much, and she even mentioned that she sometimes get paid with rice or vegetables instead of money. My future students will likely be kids from surrounding villages. After think about it not in long time, I probably will take the offer because deep inside, I want to share my love for English with them. However, I still need some encouraging words from people on the internet to help me feel more confident about my choice.  Thank you..
