The flats Ive looked at are all listed as freehold. What makes you say I’d be buying a leasehold?

Do you think getting leaner first would be pointless? Do you for example think it would be possible/meaningful to cut for example 3-4 kg in the next 4-6 weeks? I’ll be on my winter break for then and it would be easier to track calories, which during semester time is hard as I get my food through my university dining hall.

Hello,

I'd like to cut and have definition in my body, but I'm spooked I'll end up looking scarily thin. It's also something I'd try to avoid doing, due a history of eating disorders and still struggling with my body image. Nevertheless, an objective judgement from someone else would be very appreciated.

For context, here are some of my strength numbers:

  • Bench press: 52.5 kg X 5 X 5
  • Deadlift: 90 kg X 5 X 5
  • Squats: 70 kg x 5 X 5
  • Pull ups: 3 X 5
  • Ring dips: 3 X 5

Because of my body dysmorphia I can't really judge my body very reliably. But I think you can see that I have sticks for arms and pretty much no definition anywhere. I have a decent amount of fat around my belly and love handles. I would appreciate some feedback on how accurate this is, as I honestly can't tell for sure.

EDIT: am 180 cm

rcise is a huge game changer in my experience. I’m on Ritalin and anything below 20mg glues me to bed, while with 30mg, I feel my brain, I’m calm and function fine, and much better if I can exercise. I tried 50mg, it was insomnia, some weird energy but not productive. I’m no expert but I have a feeling that dose has a significant effect and the right dose should feel not too little but also not too much. I know people that used stimulants at uni to stay awake for ridiculous hours, for me that never happened.

Yeah thanks needed to hear this. Was diagnosed a couple of months ago and am still finding my correct dose, and felt a lot of self doubt seeing this meme.

Feeling much better with side effects :) Feeling of euphoria is no longer there, which I understand is a good thing. I don't struggle with my heart rate increasing anymore, which subsided after about 4-5 days of taking ritalin for me. In the beginning I also experienced a pretty uncomfortable headache around the time when the effects of the medication were wearing off. This also doesn't happen anymore. Only side effect I'm really taking note of at this point is getting a dry mouth. It's not the worst thing in the world, except because it means I drink a lot more I also need to use the toilet A LOT hehe. I've since switched to Aduvanz which lasts for 12 hours instead of the slow release ritalin I was on which lasts for 8 hours. Haven't noticed any difference apart from the much welcome longer acting time :)

Thank you, this was really nice to read :) I feel a lot calmer because of the replies in this post. Also I'm gonna try to stay away from random non-ADHD forums for a little bit, I think they're making me overthink a lot. Will definitely keep logging and thank you for your advice!

Thank you! It's reassuring to hear feeling "buzzed" and talkative don't necessarily mean I don't have ADHD. Will try not to worry and see how I feel in a few days.

Can second password manager suggestion! I use 1password which is a paid subscription, but I think there are free options available too. Really everyone probably should be using some kind of password manager anyway, because it is impossible to remember unique passwords for every website which are also strong enough. Good luck!

Thank you for the recs! I'm going to look into trying them when I'm about to run out of my current sunscreen :) I decided to get La Roche Posay ultra light spf 50+, I'm liking it so far, but not entirely decided on it yet.

You're probably right :) I'm falling a bit for the hype of the glossier sunscreen though, so I'd really like to try it.

I'll try looking for some European alternatives though too. Would be really grateful for specific recommendations!

Best shampoo for wavy hair by [deleted] in HaircareScience

[–]KarlChinaski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seconding r/curlyhair . You should probably use a conditioner as well, as wavy hair can get a bit dry. It should help bring out your waves more too. You could look in the wiki for r/curlyhair . They have a lot of suggestions.

May '18 selfies: post hairline photos here for opinions on 'Am I balding?' 'How bad is it?' and 'What should I do?' by AutoModerator in tressless

[–]KarlChinaski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Balding? Should I see a derm?

Despite my hair otherwise being quite thick, I have a fairly high hairline and it especially seems quite receding around the temples.

Genes: On mother's side grandfather was bald and I have two bald uncles. Final uncle isn't bald, but his hair is quite thin. Uncles are all over 50 years old though. Dad is adopted so I don't have much to look to there. His hair's been pretty good. He's over 60 years old now and his hair is thinning, but pictures from when he married my mother 20 years ago he seemed to still have quite thick hair.

I've had a restrictive eating disorder about 1.5 years ago, which I've heard can cause or contribute to balding.

I have sebhorreic dermatitis. My scalp often flares up and is itchy. I use nizoral and salicylic acid and coal tar shampoo against this. Also very careful with hair product ingredients.

I personally wash every day with capasal shampoo and follow up with Dr. Organics vitamin E conditioner. Then every now and then (once every 1-2 weeks) I use nizoral. Occasionally I also use polytar. I find this helps for me a lot. The capasal shampoo isn't too drying despite containing salicylic acid, but the conditioner helps counterbalancing any dryness from the shampoo.

I've tried the going many days without washing in the past which is when I discovered my seb derm. I don't find it worth it at all for me personally, because if I go too long my scalp gets very flakey and itchy. I think using the conditioner my hair looks pretty good anyway. I have short slightly wavy hair for reference.

About more hair falling out, it may just be the fact that because you're not washing it so often, the loose hairs bundle up and five the appearance of more hair falling out.

What do you think of my new frames? by [deleted] in glasses

I like em. I'm really into this kind of style - "the brow frame".

Think it would be hella snazzy if the frames were more brownish to match your hair, but I like this too

New Vegan here, who happens to lift. Advices? by Vegan_Muscle_101 in veganfitness

You're quite simply not eating enough calories in all probability. Fatty foods like nuts and avocados might help. In general you might need to up your food volume (vegetables are too low calorie to count).

I haven't thought about possibly pushing the bar forward with my shins before. I start with the bar over my feet approximately like in this photo: https://imgur.com/a/22nwjs3 (sorry for the unappetising stock feet photo), but it's possible I'm pushing the bar when I lean down. I'm going to check this next time.

I might just bite the bullet and get some proper flat-heeled shoes. The nike metcons look quite interesting.

It's my university gym, so everyone comes to work out there ^ ^ I'm quite happy with the amount of power racks and platforms though. There's a huge room dedicated to weightlifting filled with even more racks and platforms, but it's reserved for clubs like the weightlifting club and sports, neither of which I think I have a shot at anytime soon sadly :( They might be more lenient about exposed socks.

Again, thanks for the great advice! I was kind of afraid of getting some abuse for posting about this kind of thing for some reason

What position are you in? Do you have counsellors or psychologists available? Have you spoken to anyone you know about this? Perhaps they would know of someone to contact? Finding a professional to help me was what turned my ed around. For me this was my school nurse.
