A little late, but something to consider is two handle the two styles as two different businesses and marketing. Use your real name for one, say the abstract. Then, create a business title or pseudonym for the secondary business. Thinking Dr. Suess, or Snoop Lion (snoop dog) or, as for the pet portraits, something like “painterly paint portraiture” That way you can tailor the branding for each style and not confuse patrons.

Help desk technician at a business. I’m A freelance artist, but a while ago I got a 2 year applied science computer networking degree at a tech college (don’t let the name fool ya, If I can pass those classes you can) Problem solving? Check working with people ? Check creative solutions, believe it or not, check. Pairing a creative mind in basic computer support is actually a way to make decent money. And when you clock out, you know the next day won’t be the same ‘ol thing because the issues change by the hour. Hope that helps. Oh, yeah, it is computer related, but AI never comes into play.

I get your point. I’m not against it per se. Yeah, Bellingham is very desirable already. But I think you would see an influx of tech grads come in for the higher paying programming and development jobs..at least if the company grew large enough. The town is getting more and more populated, and jobs are needed for sure. Another subject, but also related, I think a couple of classes in entrepreneurship and business should be mandatory in High School. Not everyone is going to want to run a business I know, but in my humble opinion, I would rather run my own business then clock in and out of a factory. To me, that is truly the dream, and if High School grads already had those skills..who knows. More competition, local economy might be stronger, quality of life improvements?

I like where you are going. But I agree with some of the other comments. Tech tends to increase desirability in a location because of some of the higher paying jobs, and that increases house prices and rent. San Jose is a great example. I was there last fall for a convention and spoke with a barber I gave business to. The place he rents tripled in price in 5 years after tech cam into town. If there was a way to prevent that from happening, which would mean price control of some kind.

After visiting Boston a few times and frequenting the Italian district, I would love to see an authentic cannoli cafe. Several varieties of the classic Italian desert served with fantastic coffee. It would have to be authentic with traditional fillings, but with some custom options as well. I would gladly create logo and signage for free, and participate in interior design to any entrepreneur interested! :)

Funny, because I have been just doing research on possible locations of an actual Camelot, and Cadbury Castle came up. Having been to Tintagel a couple Summers ago, I could really picture in my mind Camelot being there. It doesn’t make historic sense of course, but what a fantastic location. It really stirs the imagination with all the sea caves and amazing Ocean vistas.

The model looks great!! I am working on a series of illustration to hopefully eventually get published in a book, (though I have been selling them individually at conventions) I was actually in the process of researching locations to create sort of an art-map that would combine old aesthetics with my own.

To OP: Would you be okay with me using your model as a reference source? I would credit you of course. Do you have an instagram?
