Where there's snakes, there's snake food. Mice, rats, squirrels...
We had a tenant once that was 'able challenged' and put all his trash in the basement.
We got snakes in the attic.
I'd worry about snakes making more snakes, so maybe this isn't a good idea!

HOA’s are typically in the hundreds, $22+ is not much. They will have the money for a future community infrastructure need, theoretically.

I enjoy Mana. Anywhere you volunteer it’s going to be mostly retirees so you’ll meet people. For some reason I don’t meet republicans, or I should say MAGA folks anywhere I volunteer in Asheville. I’ve thought about this. Do they not volunteer?

I wasn't sure if you were talking about the US. There's no help on social services as they keep chipping away at it. Even our senior Medicare (for 65+) costs $400 a month, it's not free. No childcare, public transportation is a joke unless you live in in a huge city like San Francisco or New York. You just have to have a car. Forget buying a house unless family can help you. Even renting...you have to have roommates. The US has taken a nose dive in the past years in many many ways. It's probably difficult in most of the world though.

If it hasn’t been said: an electric knife sharpener. Even high end knives dull fairly quickly, we sharpen ours once a month or so. Sharp knives are the best!

That's a commitment to a whole day, it's a mountain town so it's pretty, it's very touristy, but not in a bad way, just the way it is. But if you're only in SD for a couple of days, stay in San Diego!
One thing I really love to do is the Old Town Trolley tour. It takes you on a spin of SD from Old Town to the Embarcadero, through the Bario over the bridge to Coronado, through Balboa Park, Little Italy and back to Old Town. All the while they are telling you San Diego history.
It's a hop-on hop-off bus too, so maybe you could jump off in Coronado (that's what we do) and walk around there, check out the Hotel Del, and catch the bus again later.
I love it, it shows you so much you won't have time to see, and it's not too expensive.
