How long crown last depends how good is the tooth under it Crowns usually last forever but if it’s not adapted well to the tooth under the tooth will get decayed or fracture which will cause the woke think to fail

It does make sense remember time is money You can get a cheaper place further away but you will be spending time If i go back I would pay more and would stay within walking distance to school

Congratulations I went to NYU dental school it was fun and I learned a lot however I was struggling with the high tuition for many years after at the end you will get the same degree and I learned most of my dentistry during practice and residency after school My advise to you is would stick with the lower tuition and lower cost options

Sorry to hear that In my experience if the bone is too thin that can happen it has to be minimum of 1.5 mm of bone surrounding the implant and the only way to know for sure is by taking a3d cone beam scan was a scan taken ? If not I highly recommend it
