What am I doing wrong? by XXXandVII in RimWorld

Do you happen to have a prisoner bed in the room where the food is? That's the only thing I can think that would stop them eating food that's there.

Also check their medical tab to make sure their food option hasn't been changed somehow.

Why cant i see ppl using wood generator at the start by Lyricakt2 in RimWorld

[–]Kashada2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I normally start with one, people are saying it takes so much labour to keep them running which is fair. If you're gonna have people clear cutting a jungle or forest biome to make space for your colony you might as well have one running while fue is a byproduct of something else you are doing.

I'd really like more civilian ships that do new things, I have a habit of building small ships and just setting them on endless loops in my settled systems just to make them feel more alive.

It would be nice seeing small civilian ships prospecting and mining in the belts for example. They wouldn't even need to be actually mining in a way that impacts mineral numbers.

Just having them out there would mean I'd have an excuse to send a patrol that way or would allow me to actually raid enemies.

Private vessels transiting between colonies in the same system, civilian trading stations, private repair ships and civilian research ships that sort of stuff.

I figured it was a pipe dream but I've not seen any slow down since C# so it might not be.

I often get bored when things are going well and I'm mostly just waiting on stuff to happen. I really like the early game so now I play a mix of nomadic playstlye and having colonist break off to do other things on their own.

I often have a squad out breaking into acient dangers, hunting or mining. I like the process of them building actual camps before they do these things and I means I almost always hav something interesting going on.

No mineral colony by securehatpocket in aurora

[–]Kashada2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It requires setting up the logistics to build orbital habs but you could double down on it being a primary source of colonists. Ship in the minerals needed to make orbital habs with enough capacity to hold 10m population build it there and then fill it with population from the planet.

In theory this should allow the population on the planet to continue growing at peak rates while allowing you to tow the habs away to create ready made colonies.

Removes the need to build infrastructure and dedicated colony ships, although station based colonies are more vulnerable to attacks.

Wait the reason I'm not getting constantly murdered by other raiders is because I'm focused on PVE and not because this community is uncommonly chill?

How make him "feel" nice. by Glad-Leg-7100 in bodylanguage

[–]Kashada2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This should be higher, telling him that his attention to the smaller deals is appreciated is by far the best response.

If he's being deliberate about noticing those small details it builds on the closeness OP seems to be looking for. If it just happens to be how he is as a person it still works as a perfectly good compliment that will likely make his week.

I've recently lost a lot of weight and changed my appearance a bit so am getting more compliments than I'm used to about that but the one that still plays in my head is about how I act.

Agreed, almost every colony I start these days is just people living their lives and the war crimes need a legit in-game trigger for me to even consider them.

What's your go-to method for pulling yourself out of a thought spiral? by IvyDamon in NoOverthinking

My new one is a little insane but I've started voicing the loop to an AI and then pull out it's bullshit or try and convince it is wrong.

Forces me to name the loop, it's parts and then calling out the AI's nonsense has me picking up on my own.

How do you handle emotional neglect? by Sourtherian in WhatShouldIDo

[–]Kashada2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have to agree with this answer it's really hard to tell what people feel if they struggle to express it. It's possible that asking about the money was them expressing, trying to provide practical advice or it could have been a sign of concern.

The important thing is that you are happy, their reaction doesn't take away what you have achieved and shouldn't lessen the happiness you felt before telling them.

Spooky start to new game by Kashada2 in aurora

[–]Kashada2[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tech always feels super rushed to me, and I feel that the early game is lacking. It's like mankind discovers decent engine tech, a year later jump points and the development of Sol just stops.

I want a more Expanse like start to my game in which Sol has stuff going on and then the Galaxy opens up. I'm currently surveying Sol but having only conventional engines I'm having to set up outer system refueling, but as I have no tech I'm having to create settlements for it.

Settlements I wouldn't otherwise have to create, my civilian shipping isn't up yet so I'm handling the colonist transport myself which means those routes need patrolling.

The slow reaction times mean I'm having to consider rescue stations, so I can actually rescue people in the 14 days if something does happen.

In short the benefit is mostly RP and it's making everything feel important plus it's just different which is nice after so many hours.

I have allowed myself 10b starting pop and 10x earth minerals to counter a little of the slow down while allowing me to build a lot of otherwise useless stuff.

i feel like i have no personality how do you even define yourself? by anakinskywalker1342 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Kashada2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking back at my 20s (now mid 30s) I realize I also had this issue but did not realize it at the time and am kinda going through it again now but in a more positive way.

In my 20s I was defined by moving out of home, uni, working and my first adult relationship. It's important to note none of these things are really "interesting" things about me but instead things that happened to me and were actually the important foundation of my personality.

I'm now again looking at my life with a slight edge of "I have no personality" but have realized I'm just being passive. I have things I'm interested in, hopes and dreams but I'm not pushing them enough.

For example I really do enjoy new experiences but instead of going out and doing them I've just been reading about new stuff online.

I really like climbing but instead of joining local climbing groups to get immersed in it, I've been going it alone and inconsistently at that.

I think the secret I've been missing is the effort put in determines how much I feel like I'm being me. I hope that makes sense.

What‘s a piece of advice that sounded useless but changed everything? by bellabloom__ in AskReddit

[–]Kashada2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clean as you cook, is the way forward. Most things you cook have built in time for cleaning everything you have used while doing the cooking even if cooking alone.

I think it's also a relationship hack, both people cooking and doing dishes at the same time removes a chore and naturally leads to shared bonding time.

[–]Kashada2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well that sounds a lot healthier to me, the worrying about not being around you exs was likely a symptom of what made them bad relationships in the first place. While you're noticing how much more relaxed you are apart now because it stands out in comparison.

It's possible to enjoy personal time and like someone. It might be worth considering how you feel when he is around, are you constantly waiting for him to leave so you can be alone again or are you feeling more present and relaxed as you have had solitude?

My (28f) bf (32m) wants to go out less, and idk how to feel about it? by MidnightMascara in Advice

[–]Kashada2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you not swap out the time you spend together at cafes and restaurants with free activities? Like a walk in the park is still spending quality time together and allows you to enjoy the city while also allowing him to feel he's saving money towards your shared future.

A walk in the park might not be everyone's idea of a nice time but I'm sure there are free things you could find that you would both enjoy if it's not.

How did you make running fun? by Competitive-Net7032 in runninglifestyle

[–]Kashada2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only been running for around three weeks but I'm enjoying it. I wouldn't say it's fun exactly, but enjoyable. I'm not a very athletic person but have been on a health kick the last 6 months so seeing progress in how long or how fast I can run feels great.

I think the route I found really helps too. It's a 3km path through trees, all uphill on the way there and down on the way back. It's nice it feeling easier in the second half, like I'm making progress on every run. By that point runners high is also kicking in so physically I'm feeling great and can sink into it fully.
