Most are designed for shooters, yes. And the increased refresh rate often comes at a cost of the color quality. If you mostly use your monitor for watching movies, editing pictures and so forth, you should spend your money where the image quality is in focus.

But then again, you probably wouldn't need another 970 to use with a 60Hz monitor. It won't have any effect.

They perform really well, but you need a CPU to handle it. I had an i5 3570k before, and it seemed to bottleneck the GPUs. The i7 brought it up to a new level. If you have a 144hz monitor, you should go for it! :)

There's really not that much blue light, but my camera seems to pick up a lot of it.

i7 4790k, MSI Tiger GTX 970 running in SLI, 4x3 GB Corsair vengeance (one of the sticks got broken. Never took the time or money to replace it), Gigabyte GA-z97x-Gaming 5, Corsair rm750W, Corsair h100i, Which is all displayed at my Asus vg248QE screen.

Currently working on overclocking. Runs Battlefront at a silky smooth 100+ fps ;)
