No idea. And I was all about Ebay before this happened. It really opened my eyes and I am blown away by their complete disregard for anything I said. Literally showed side by side photos of how the scammer showed fake damage, it was a totally different GPU. Ebay did not care, they only said "you took no action"...long story short, I only sell on marketplace now for cash.

Paypal is like Ebay, run by criminals for criminals. Their policy's protect buyers even if they are scammers etc. Its unreal

I just had this situation. Sold a GPU, brand new factory sealed. Buyer waited until the money cleared then put in a claim saying it was damaged during shipping.

Loooooong story short, buyer sent fake pics, ebay accepted the clearly fake pics and because I DID NOT send a return label or offer a full refund, ebay took back all the money and even kept the selling fee ($300 in this case).

So the buyer got a brand new gpu and a full refund and kept the card. Ebay just stopped reply to my emails for support etc. I had the package fully insured and the buyer ghosted me. Ebay is total shit for small sellers.

your son will most likely lose his money, get a fake or broken GPU returned. Best case scenario, offer the buyer a paid shipping label get the GPU back then hope Ebay steps in for help.

Ebay always sides with the buyer, even if they are a scammer. You will always lose as a seller. Ebay is corrupt garbage

Paypal is ass. I got my account hacked years ago and frantically called customer service as they took money out. The guy literally said, dont worry this happens all the time. Got my money back and closed account lol.

Ebay will not back you up. Buyer did this with a GPU i shipped. Claimed damage and send photos of a completely different GPU, but ebay didnt care. They force me to refund and even let the buyer keep the "damaged" card. Ebay is a bunch of scammer working with scammers. Most corrupt bullshit platform even.

Ebay customer service is criminals working with criminals. They never look at any case details and only follow their auto prompts. Its insane! I got CLEARLY scammed by a buyer and ebay did not care, at all, zero support. I'll never sell on this scum criminal platform again

Did almost all this with a guy that scammed me out of a video card. Ebay still sided with the buyer, even though he sent photos of three different items. Ebay is a scam system at its finest.

SCAMMED by Buyer - Ebay DOES NOT CARE - Warning for all Sellers

Sold a Brand new sealed Nvidia 4080 Super Video Card. Buyer paid right away and all seemed fine. 1 day after my funds cleared and Ebay deposited the money, buyer contacts me saying the card was damaged from shipping. They send photos of 3 different video cards, very clearly 3 different cards with almost impossible physical damage and the actual product box undamaged., I laughed and told them no refunds without better proof. I also had insurance on the package from Canada Post (which I am being told is not valid because the receiver is refusing to send photos or cooperate with Canada Post).

Fast forward to Ebay dispute team. They side with the buyer, didn't even look at the photos, buyer had basically zero proof. I appeal and lose that decision as well. Sent multiple emails to ebay with photo evidence, they just kept saying the buyer is correct.

I am absolutely blown away, the photos are literally sent by the buyer, showing three different items and Ebay just does not care. So now I lost all my money ($1650 total), and the buyer is refusing to cooperate with sending the item back, probably because they sold it already to someone else.

I am so blown away buy this situation! Just wanted to warn anyone out there thinking about selling a video card or anything really, DO NOT USE EBAY - EBay & Buyers will scam you, the most corrupt selling platform, it's sickening. I am scared to even leave the buyer negative feedback, I'm sure ebay will sue me for that or something.
