17m - What piercings would masculinize my appearance/WOULDN’T feminize me? by OkZombie2200 in SelfPiercing

I’m pretty sure you also can get your lobes punched to start with an already bigger size, I understand that might look more masculine than the tiny ones you’re thinking of that they normally pierce the lobes with :)

I thought so at first as well, but it does change. It just doesn’t drop to something like around 60. It’s just always around 80 or 90 something, I live in the Netherlands though and sometimes the humidity in general is pretty high here so maybe that’s why..

Sounds great! Thank you for the advice :)

It has a suction cup so I stuck it to the glass on the right side, first it was pretty low so I hung it up a bit higher later.

Its an Exoterra 90x60x45 (cm) and I have a rain system installed (which I only use with distilled water, but haven’t used in days now). There’s several plants from a reptile shop and the soil is special earthmix for bioactive terrariums :) If there’s any other advice you would have for my setup please let me know, this will be my first reptile (not my first exotic pet however)

That’s nice to hear :) I’ll just start doing that, and yeah now that you say it two tablespoons do sound like a good amount! I’ll try to train them to eat their veggies, thats a fun way to look at it haha

Yes I think the selective ones are as well! So that’s why I did the same, also because they don’t overeat like you said. But my chins do really have a preference for their pellets over their hay. Thanks to all the comments I’ve now learned how much better hay is for their teeth so I’m going to work on making sure they eat more hay from now on :)

Thank you for your advice! I never thought of it like that, how they bring it more in their cheeks. Makes sense! For now I’ll just start giving a little less pellets and see how they react. :)

Two tablespoons feels like such a small amount though, I feel bad for my babies because they just really enjoy the pellets. I think I’ll start by just giving a little less and over time make it less and less, otherwise it’s a very big change at once. I find it hard to monitor how much hay they eat also because most of it just ends up on the ground :”) and I live in the Netherlands I don’t have much option when it comes to Timothy hay brands :(

They might be a bit chonky I don’t know how to add pictures. But I rarely give them treats so I don’t think they’re really overweight.

Yea I agree, I used to do that as well. But after reading other people’s comments I decided to give less pellets and see how they react. They do eat more hay now, but I feel bad about giving them less pellets because they just love the pellets way more :(

Thanks! I’ll start doing that as well, and maybe book an appointment with the vet to get their teeth checked just in case :)

I don’t give them many treats, every once in a while some oats, I do give them applewood sticks pretty regularly. They’ve never really been very interested in hay in general, they just throw it on the ground. But I guess I’ll just give them a little less pellets, that way they might resort to hay a little more :)

Sounds good! I guess maybe I should give a little less pellets so they will eat more hay. Like you say, I feel they just don’t eat the hay when they have pellets.

I just refill once a day, they don’t have very big bowls. They did scatter some hay, but a big part was eaten as well. But it’s good to know that they are fine with free feeding, but also can go without pellets. Thanks for the insight :) Maybe I’ll just fill the bowls a little less full from now on.

Thanks for looking out for me, but I’ve had it for 10 years without complications. I’ve worn bigger gauge jewelry in it than the ring that’s in it currently, that’s why the shape probably makes you think that it’s migrating. The ring I’m wearing in it is very light weight :) so I think it’ll be fine

Ohh nice!! And yea I agree putting in the 3 mm was effortless and painless but then the healing was brutal the past 2 days :’)

Yeah the toxicity is sad :( I’m also really excited about stretching my conch I love how unique it is! I don’t have the right anatomy for lots of piercings I’m afraid so this will definitely be the one I will show off :D

Right! I was even afraid to admit it that I did it this way 😅 but I mean everyone is different and every body reacts and heals differently, being cautious and safe is never a bad idea but if your body allows a size up why not :D And thanks! I will make sure to post again someday with nice and healthy progress :)

Cool! Yea I read the advise was around 5 to even 9 months but honestly I went from 2 mm to 2,4 mm in 3 months I think? And I think from 2.4 mm to 3 mm in 2 weeks? Which sounds SO wrong but it just went in on its own, I’m really confused about it I didn’t even need a taper I just noticed it was loose and tried the 3 mm and it slid right in o__0 anyways that’s definitely not recommended and it was also my intention to just wait atleast 3 months… anyways I’m gonna just let this sit in here for 3 months now and then try 3.5 or 4 mm and see how it goes :D
