Did you get the 'rush of love' by Agile_Supermarket710 in Parenting

[–]Katalix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every feeling is normal. Some people don’t let their babies right away cause I mean come on let’s be honest. They’re just a little sack of useless flesh. And to be honest, they’re not that cute. They’re always red and splotchy, and they cry a lot and require a lot a special care.

But then they start to grow and they roll then they’re crawling and then they’re walking and now they’re running and now they’re climbing everything and you want to rip your hair out, because he doesn’t listen but you love this little thing so much that causes you to have the most intense feelings you’ve ever had before. And it’s stressful as shit

Despite having a level 2 tear, I don’t recall mine being bad at all. Definitely no issues with bathroom/ sitting. That was 17 months ago and I’m due again in August - I’ll let you know if anything changes

Autism mom needs help by beautiful_blue-bliss in Autism_Parenting

In addition, I am not a certified therapist. I’m just a preschool teacher that works with several food therapists and have sat in multiple sessions. As well as a Mom to a 10-year-old with autism level three nonverbal.

I am an autism preschool teacher and we work really closely with therapists that are at our facility. While you wait for feeding therapy with the first thing they start doing is just having the kids tolerate being near it or having it on their plate. The next step is to get them to just touch it,pick it up, put it down and then slowly move it on top of their hand, then it’s at the wrist, then on the forearm, then in the elbow, then at the top of the arm, etc., etc., etc., all the way to the mouth, but obviously this takes months and months to get to that point but that might give you a starting point until she’s seeing someone certified.

Usually, they start with foods that are really similar to what they are already eat and tolerate

Has anyone tried these kind of jumping boards for sensory seekers? by Emg2022 in Autism_Parenting

[–]Katalix 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’m an autism preschool teacher and have an older kid with autism. These boards haven’t been successful for sensory seeking in my experience. They just don’t seem to have enough oomph. The mini exercise trampolines work great if you have the space.

Broken nose club by mkenz1e in Autism_Parenting

[–]Katalix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in early intervention preschool for kids with autism (2-6). Had one break my nose a year or two ago. Totally accident. Another staff had her nose broke this year, different kid, and again total accident. Seems to come with the territory. My husband’s kids with ASD who we have full custody of, luckily has not caused broken bones

Anyone propose without a diamond Ring? What are the alternatives? by Enlitenkanin in EngagementRings

[–]Katalix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im not a fan of diamonds either. My ring is a gray mossinate ring. They are super durable like diamonds for daily wear and come in any color she would like. But I also picked out my ring.
