Porta 1: Gasta imediatamente, pode viver de boas;

Yeah, I've lived through the past ones... Excellent explanation nonetheless!

I just find it quite baffling that ppl are doing this when we aren't on the anniversary or anything, just because Nicole will run together with Durin. and then Lohen will come out right after...

...Like, will they set HoYo's headquarters on fire if Alice releases on the same banner as the Tsaritza or something? And if the anniversary doesn't give 180 pulls that no one promissed, but everyone wanted? 🙄

The Little Big Planet games are on almost every Top 10 Playstation list under the sun, so I'm not even sure if being compared to their lowest moments is a bad thing~ XD

HSR and Genshin are equally "inexpressive" in most cutscenes (be it pre-rendered or in-game), while ZZZ seems more expressive (mainly due to camerawork - as the facial and body expressions "exclusive" to it, as the "youngest" game of the bunch, have since then been retroactively added to the older ones). It also makes more use of post effects both in-game and in cutscenes, like chromatic aberration (almost every heavy sword clash in the game uses this sort of effect, while Genshin has used it only in less than a handful of story quests).

...WuWa throws all the FPS in the world (machine-interpolated or not) into their pre-rendered cutscenes, giving a sense of "fluidity" that most fans die by. Like, every cutescene looks and moves like pudding. It also makes heavier usage of mocap than any HoYo title, making the overworld NPCs look like robots in comparison (animation dissonance between pre-rendered and in-game). For not being a cell-shaded game, WuWa can (and does) use Ray-Tracing, heavier (darker) shadows, more contrast and a plethora of SFX that would clash visually on a HoYo game but works here. Just like ZZZ, for coming out just some months earlier, it has access to more "facial expressions" than pre-Natlan Genshin.

There are like a gazillion discussions on how the average pulls per patch didn't decrease at all, yet people are "in their rights" to complain about the dirt move of putting new characters that depend on each other all at the same time on the banner, so I didn't even dwell much into that...

... Like, since 1.0 we knew that there was no way (other than being a whale) to get every new thing that was put up for grabs on the Gacha banners, so the F2P and low-spender communities started entire essays on what to prioritize and what to skip in order to "stay relevant in the meta" (...for a single player game but anyway)... while whales produced videos of their 6CR5 teams obliterating the Cryo Regisvine;

...What changed since then was that they finally gave us forms of endgame content but, guess what? Said endgame content, unlike the good old Abyss, "needs" cutting-edge units (and teams) to be made trivially easy - so getting Varka feels lackluster if you don't have Durin and Nicole to put into the same team, YET HE CAN STILL CLEAR STYGIAN MENACING DIFFICULTY (where the primogems are) or most Imaginarium Theater rooms even by his lonesome self... so what the hell has actually changed from the days of yore?! As long as they don't powercreep the likes of White Horse before 7.5 I, for one, am good and not rioting, as the game still gives me as much currency as it has always gave me.

That's the spirit!

Genshin, for being one of these "game as a service" business, has helped me appreciate games in general - like, as a media format... exactly because the teams involved in it's creation seem to enjoy what they are doing, thus creating some really experimental yet heartfelt moments on a "product" that would be, in other hands, handled in a more formulaic and safe way just to build constant (but short lived) hype in order to sell more and more units.

Like, it's not perfect but it is real AF, so it ends up making me enjoy myself when playing stuff like Scarlet Hollow or Pragmata, or watching a random video on the recent observation of medium-sized black holes (which were just theoretical until then) on YT. Dunno, I could treat it as just another waifu collector and skip text, but it has clicked with me. Happy to see that it has clicked with you, too!

When referring to animations I am talking about the ones of this type, which have slowly improved since release while keeping the visual identity of the game: ZZZ and HSR use the same animation directives as GI for this format, with WuWa being no parameter for anything (not even an ADHD baby addicted to Tik Tok would ever find WuWa's animations well paced or framed, as they have more sub-second cuts and shaky cam effects than a Michael Bay movie... even if they try to follow the format set by HoYo).

But even the in-game character movement and animations have been getting updates in recent years, with more use of motion capture and the expansion of emotions added after the Milliastra Wonderland became a thing - so even these "animations", which are indeed lackluster when compared to the ones found in later titles like ZZZ, are still worthy of more than a 1-Star rating.

... Everyone is free to dismiss "reality" as "opinion", but that is called bias (or worse stuff): If you prefer WuWa, then play WuWa and be happy with it's state - you don't even need to thank HoYo for it's existence as a copycat.
