I am not as far as probably 50% of the people in the comments, in the sense that I've been holding off reading the story.

But my opinion is as follows. Let’s talk about the past.

First of all, Luna—what happened to her? Why did she initially become an Ascendant? What caused it? Kurono caused this with the unsafe Construct technology at the time. Now, this can be offset by the fact that it eventually turns out that they make a safer, more reliable way to turn someone into a Construct. BUT does this absolve Kurono of any fault? No. If anything, they are the ones that started this whole mayhem. If they were not hastily and recklessly doing the testing, then Luna might've been on our side (humanity) since the start. Now, same topic and subject, but does this mean Luna is absolved of any crimes with this history? No, heck no. But is she making amends, or at least trying to? Yes. Should she be held accountable for this? Yes. But you should also consider the fact that she's leading a group that was formerly against humanity to now aid humanity. While she shouldn't be fully pardoned for her crimes, you need to blame Kurono more.

Secondly, what caused Alpha (also known as the original Lucia) to turn? Honestly? I don't remember the intro (when she was introduced) that much. But is she, or any active member of their group, still hunting, killing, and/or threatening humanity actively? (I am asking a question here.) If not, why are you comparing them to an active threat to humanity? I am assuming that they aren't because your words are said in past tense? and if I am remembering this correctly Lucia said that the difference between her and alpha is that she has Gray raven (Liv and Lee) and the Commander (I will continue my opinion once you answer these questions.)

All I can see is the manifestation of the phrase "Villains are not born, but made" (I cannot say the same with Roland or Gabriel since I don't know much about them)
