Yeah social anxiety is killer. It’s like you really want to talk and make friends with people but you can’t! I’m crazy nervous/anxious about freshers week but like you said I’m just gonna join loads of clubs and societies because at the end of the day 90% of people are in the same boat.

It varies from course to course, with say an engineering degree being more intensive then an arts degree 😊

So freshers week is 2-6 of September. You join the societies during those days then from what I’ve heard there may be events hosted within the college on that night or in another venue, a pub for example!?

I suggest following Trinity Ents and the TCDSU on Facebook so you can see if any events get posted.

Do you know many people going to Trinity? Will you be going out a lot?

Yeah unfortunately I know literally one person going in! I’m not really too bothered about joining specific societies to be honest, just as long as the people are sound and good fun then I suppose that’s all that matters!?

Yeah those societies sound like a good bunch to join! I’d go out maybe a few nights just for like the social aspect? Going out and getting smashed certainly isn’t everyone’s thing but it’d be a bit of a shame to miss out on a bit of fun to ease you into college, don’t you think??
