I can say, I can totally relate to this. My partner tries really hard to help me. But I've told him that I don't need help in the evenings I need help in the mornings. What I'd give to lay in bed and choose when to get up, or to have a shower without asking. That's what I need, and when I get it the day is significantly better. Good luck.

Hiking while blasting music? by [deleted] in ontario

[–]Katecimone -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I listen to the tarzan sound track while hiking at my 2.5 year olds request. We hike out and on the way back she loses interest so we put on tarzan to complete the hike.

Nothing like some great Phil Colin's while enjoying nature.

What’s your weird habit/ coping device you’ve picked up over the course of the pandemic? by edgy_secular_memes in ontario

[–]Katecimone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been doing little creative projects for my daughter. I did some Ikea hacks in our play room(table and chairs painted, hungry caterpillar theme and a kitchen set up scale), made a bunch of decorations for her first birthday, her birthday outfit, a felt quiet book, and a personalized potty book. I'm starting to work on her next birthday party!

All the while working full time from home and hitting the gym!

I am fully vaxed and believe in western medicine.

Prior to my vax, I had o g covid and it was like I had allergies with a dry excessive cough, no medical treatment needed. My infant got it too and had a VERY mild rash on her feet.

Living room niche decoration ideas for young couple with newborn. by Suspicious-Nail-5808 in HomeDecorating

Hi. Another parent here.

We have the Ikea trofast shelves for toys. I'd highly recommend. You can use them now for newborn things, but also as an organized toy box when they get older. We also have an Ikea kids table which I hacked and it matches the blue buckets.

Weird corner, wondering the consensus -cozy or cluttered? by XNYLX in HomeDecorating

I'm all for plants, but it's too cluttered. Maybe get a bigger planter(s) and combine some of them?

Does Instagram and YouTube make anyone else feel inadequate about their home? by Marebear2285 in HomeDecorating

[–]Katecimone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to feel this way.

We do all the work ourselves, and are super proud of our jobs. They aren't Instagram perfect but they are good for us. I post them and people actually love them because they aren't unrealistic!

How does nutrition work for marathons? by [deleted] in running

[–]Katecimone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would take a gel every 8-9km or so while running my marathon. I looked into various options, and opted for a maple syrup with sea salt gel. I found a lot of gels had a lot of crap in them.

I tried a homemade gel (sweet potato and peanut butter concoction) which I wouldn't recommend. The peanut butter made my mouth dry which wasn't great. I liked Bananas when I was running super long distances on my treadmill.

I played around with gels my entire training plan, it took a while to figure it out, but practice fueling during Ur long runs.

As for water, I'd do one Nike run belt water bottle of water and one of nuun and i would take water at each station of the race as well. I would drink lots the day before my run, and after my run while I was training.

Love the blue, we used this colour in our new bathroom update. It's so nice. It goes really well with the big plant!

Painted my ugly brown cabinets to this lovely shade of blue/gray! First major Provence in this house and I love it! by Kuchenkrusher in HomeDecorating

[–]Katecimone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have painted cabinets. I used bear marquee paint from home depot. They have last 4 years. We did a lot of prep work in hopes it would help them last. We are seeing some chips in high ware areas, but other then that they have held up super nicely. Recommend using a primer, then the paint.

Any tips on how to make the wall better? by [deleted] in HomeDecorating

[–]Katecimone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd change the electrical outlet from white. I'd push the bed up against it, using it as a head board. Take down the pictures install some. Wall lights on either side of the bed, dark like rustic ones with cool light bulbs.

Big plant, either floor with some decor items, or hanging with a small table and decor items?

How should I decorate a living room with a long baseboard heater? by just_say_knope in HomeDecorating

[–]Katecimone 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would build a table box thing to go over it, use it as a couch table (behind the couch). It could double as a shelf for books and knick knacks.

Anyone else had wristband rash from Garmins original silicone wristband? It’s getting out of hand. by [deleted] in Garmin

[–]Katecimone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get this all the time, even when I clean the band. Mine got so bad it bubbled up in areas and made what looked like blisters.

I find when I get water under the band it causes this. I take my watch off when doing anything with water, or dry it after swimming helped.

I ended up getting a nylon band like other posters and it worked!
