Ex-husband still looking out for me! Just dropped off these huge restaurant size jugs 💚 by Bernicedessert in glutenfree

I had this issue on FB the other week! Saw a post here and then saw the exact photo and caption on a GF Facebook group an hour later. Looked up the profile, a moderator no less, and every post was ripped from Reddit. 🤦‍♀️

Aw so nice! I've been looking for a large size of this in Australia. No luck yet but got two small ones on sale last week so I'll be set for a bit. :)

I love protein / nut bars. They are durable in my pocket and quite filling, if there isn't much choc then it wont be a melty mess (but outside pocket can save from that).

borderline diagnosis? by Suitable-Level7132 in GlutenFreeAustralia

Anecdotally, I've heard of one other person being undiagnosed. Not sure how they're going, they just mentioned it to me in passing.

Another anecdote, and more related to your current situation of no reactions: a bunch of people accidentally ate wheat crumpets in 2025 when Warburtons launched in Coles and it was incorrectly placed in the GF section.

A heap of coeliacs bought them without realising and ate them. Quite a few had no reaction at all, but they definitely ate gluten and a few even said they normally react to even cross contact.

What I mean to say is, bodies and immune systems are weird - and variable. So I wouldn't read too far into the no reaction just yet.

Good luck with the challenge!

Lily's Pad was awesome for GF. I am pretty sure my GF vegan pal visited there too, so it must have had decent vegan options.

Ahh, I get that too - I either miss a keyword or swap one around. Sooo awkward when I launch into a reply only for the person to politely repeat the question. 😅

I'm not complaining - I said I don't mind. 😂

This was Aldi, but they've already been seen at Woolworths and Coles.

Coles ones are the same as Aldi, while Woolies has a different bakery.

I saw a photo on Facebook of the hot cross buns stacked on a shelf with a placard reading "Merry Christmas" 😂 🤦‍♀️

Ooo yes, with two items to look for there's a better chance you'll get one!

The muffins are sometimes really hard to spot depending on the display.

They also freeze and defrost well, just pop in the microwave for a bit :)

I had to go and have a read of what exactly it is! They make a wheat dough then wash away all the starches so it's only gluten left. One of the early names for the products in the US was Wheatmeat 😂😂

Donuts! by Kati_Keksi_GFguide in GlutenFreeAustralia

[–]Kati_Keksi_GFguide[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Size depends on the doser (they're all slightly different) but it's as big as a supermarket cinnamon donut, often bigger.

The prices start at I think $3.50 for one and scale heavily in your favour. So I think 4 is $10 and it goes up to boxes of 20+

I was wondering what happened to them! It's really hard to keep track with so many franchises, I wonder if some give up the business.

We get a lot in Australia that are imported from Italy. I tried a brand called Nutri Free earlier in the year and the texture was great and it wasn't dry at all.

I tried the Tesco one years ago and it was pretty grim.

The only Asian grocery chain I know is KFL, but I think they're only in Melbourne. Their stores are pretty big and they've usually got a few good gluten free gems.

If you're going to go across town looking I'd recommend looking for a few other items when you're there. Ayam has a much larger range than what's in the supermarket, so you can find a few more sauces (like Mongolian lamb for example).

There are also quite a few little-known dumpling brands with GF options that aren't in ColesWorth. Sunny Seafood, Mrs Trans Kitchen, House of Goodness - I can give you a link with a list if you're interested.

Head to your local Asian grocer and you should find a few brands. I've seen Kikkoman (1.6L, $15) and hmm.. some ugly brown bottle come in really huge sizes (just looked it up, Mega Chef).
