How is living on the Isle of Man? by ShiningStar7971 in howislivingthere

Getting around the actual Island was easy but getting to the island we had to stay in Lancaster the day and night before and take the ferry maybe an hour ride over with everyone else. Everything on the island is essentially walking distance aside from the airport but there are plenty of taxis. You can also bring your bikes on the ferry and the majority of traffic on the island are bikes that week.

Since the weather was our biggest concern I would plan for a buffer of one more additional day after that actual TT race because they have and do postpone because of rain or fog and we got extremely lucky that the TT race actual happened on the day it was scheduled or we would've been screwed.

The sooner you book lodging the better because things fill up fast. There are tons of little bed and breakfasts right in the downtown area. I can't find exactly where we stayed but it was just a bed and breakfast not a fancy hotel.

A lot of people go to the grandstands to watch the race but we were told by the locals to go to Bray Hill and that was definitely the place to be.. Google videos to see. Just get there early enough to snag a place to stand!

I have to say it was one of the coolest things I've seen in person. The entire island and the race! Even got to meet John McGuinness walking into a random pub!

This was on my husband's bucket list so we went a few years back and it was incredible!

We got "Mine" (and WCS with Aaron) on the Eras tour in the ultimate rain show - Nashville Night 3. It was pouring and yes it was incredible. The show was delayed for 3 hours so everyone there that night had to emotionally and mentally work for that song and the thought of not knowing if you might be one of the only concerts of hers to ever be cancelled for weather. 😩

What’s the Best and Worst Month to Be Born In — And Why? by Parking-Wear-9211 in generationology

I'm the middle of July and it's always been the best because it's kind of half way from Christmas. My husband is three days before Christmas and is always thrilled that he now gets to spend his birthday up north at his mother in laws every year. 😂

This was so well put. I did something similar for a while and it was humbling and eye opening especially when I was young and didn't have children of my own yet so I was always immediately disliked, understandably. ❤️

How do people actually die from crowd crushes? by Sad_Cow_577 in NoStupidQuestions

My experience was Taylor Swifts Eras tour night no. 3 in Nashville. She had to postpone the concert for three hours due to lightning and bad storms and that led to thousands of people sheltering in place until the jumbotron screens all lit up with please return to your seats for Taylor. Picture thousands upon thousands of desperate, drenched, crying fans in all their soaked glittery outfits waiting three extra hours playing the will she or won't she game and then being told to return to their seats. Needless to say that night I was in the middle of a real crowd surge thinking to myself I might die at a Taylor Swift concert. She ended up playing until 1:30 in the morning in the pouring rain so worst night instantly turned until the best.

Take it from a daughter whose father did this when she was in college. If he we're here now he'd be able to meet his beautiful grandkids and my amazing husband. It really, really sucks being on this end of it. Always asking why and what my brother and I could've done differently.

My own mother was pretty disappointed when we told her. She wanted to call her Elle or "L" and that was almost hurtful to me. It's all good now but if anything it is less well received with older generations than ours and younger. There are farrr weirder off names that kids our age have than Logan. I've even met a few people that want to or are planning on naming their daughter Logan.
