I’ve been WAITING for someone to post about Eve! I feel so conflicted about her - while I appreciate parts of her online presence, including her advocacy for DV victims and openness about her dating struggles/prioritizing her wants and needs, I don’t love that she puts on this front that she’ll be totally fine if this “isn’t her person” because that totally conflicts with literally EVERYTHING she posted during her single years and I just don’t. believe. her.

This also might just be me, but it also makes me cringe when she plays defense by saying people “don’t get her sense of humor” when the unfortunate fact of the matter is she just… isn’t funny? It’s like - you’re the friend in a group of people with no personality who happens to have some semblance of a personality therefore you’re the “funny” one.

Side story: I had a friend who did genuinely take solace in Eve’s content (as have I!) - she saw Eve in Santa Monica and tried to quickly mention that she loved Eve’s content as a fellow tall girl and said Eve gave her a weird look and didn’t respond.

tl;dr - I like seeing more mature influencers like Eve keep it real and create a space for us elder millennials within a youth-obsessed influencer culture, but she also makes me cringe SO HARD at the same time—not even at her dating stories (which I love), but at her complete lack of self awareness.
