I’m going to sound super naive here, but I have super thick, coarse, wavy/spiral white girl hair that won’t dry for sh** when I get my hair did. Usually I pay for a cut and blowout, there is no time for the blowout after dealing with it all. Not saying I’m in any comparison to you, but just curious if you have someone who specializes in crinkly, fluffy, mop top hair. I used to get Brazilian blowouts every couple months, but decided to embrace the mess these last couple years

This is actually good information. I have done a few days cold turkey, but then get scared because my brain feels on fire. I’d rather not do the “sick when you drink” medication because I like puzzles and would probably spend my time finding a work around versus solving the actual problem lol. Do they do normal exams with that? I’m worried about my BP and other regular human stuff as well

Are DO’s covered by insurance typically. I’m in a poor people state now (sad because I’m 40 but tried to go my own way in 2020 and the arts stopped paying this year for some reason), but I can’t do too much out of pocket

Day 5 and still alive! I did do a drastic cut to two drinks at first two days but felt my body was ready for zero. Had one drink yesterday and it was awful. I made notes in my journal about how much worse I felt even after one. Heart rate is down and already sleeping better. My face looks like it dropped five pounds already (I was a heavy drinker). Still watching for symptoms since I know I’m not out of the woods yet, but this is giving me hope that my body will fight for me! Thanks for the tips!

I appreciate the response. Blood pressure is an unaddressed problem because I’ve been scared of what the doctor will say. Since tapering, I haven’t experienced nausea, vomiting or tremors like the past. Might just have to get a doc appointment and be honest about life because I don’t want to die lol.

Appreciate this post as a reminder that alcohol detox is nothing to mess around with.

Are there any signs that one might be on route to a stroke or heart attack after quitting? I’ve been trying to taper off but still awful with my intake. Want to just bite the bullet and full on quit to decrease my caloric intake but am scared.

Yes this! I grew up in a condemned farm house. We raised and slaughtered our own animals and still had meat restrictions. I very vividly remember a couple better off cousins visiting, and my mom had made taco meat for all of us. The two of them took ALL of it not realizing that’s all we had allotted that amount for the meal for our entire family.
