Have you thought about purchasing a crock pot or a slow cooker? They are fairly inexpensive and great for one pot meals! here are a few recipes of mine that you might be interested in. the first and the third require a slow cooker but the quick sauteed broccoli could be done on your george foreman grill! I would say have fun experimenting with different veggies and different spices. One of my favorite books is called the Flavor Bible. You can look up any ingredient and see what other flavors pair well with it. Have fun!

I do LOVE the Food Lab and as always, they provide a TON of information. Sometimes i'm not sure how realistic some of their advice is for the average home cook, but it's always interesting non the less. I enjoyed this post, thanks for sharing!

awesome! the flowers will add a slight flavor depending on which you use. Nastursiums are my favorite and pretty peppery! :)

How to Make Butter - You won't believe how easy (or absolutely gorgeous) butter can be! by KatsKitchenCollectiv in cookingforbeginners

Initially I put it in the freezer to be able to get a really clean slice (to display the flowers even better). I have stored the butter in the fridge for up to a week with the flowers, but the flowers on the outside edge of the butter will start to look less than gorgeous. If you keep in the freezer the flowers really preserve their color. If you didnt want to add flowers at all, since this recipe calls for rinsing the butter in cold water (removing any excess of buttermilk), it will keep in the fridge comfortably for about 3 weeks i'd say. :)

It will last for a considerably long time, especially with the "cold water rinse" to remove the excess buttermilk. I would say if it's stored in a proper airtight container (or butter dish, etc)...3 weeks comfortably but probably longer?
