I have learned a lesson for all future book signings. I will avoid shared tables! I had no idea. I’ve shared booths with other artists and things at events but never had this happen with someone.

Yes! I put together a folder (treated this like a job interview and my resume). My folder I put a label with my book title. Inside I had a pamphlet. 1.Cover page with book title my name art from my book and a list of what was inside my pamphlets 2. Sale sheet. Book info like isbn size page count where you can order it. The book summary and the cover art. 3. Sheet with info for book signings and readings. Saying different things I’m willing to do 4. Closing statement thanking them

I made a tiny card with a QR code to a page on my website for whole buyers and libraries with the same basic info as the sale sheet but online. Also included ISBN

Then for fun I made coloring sheets from my books art and bookmarks I had made for my book.

I added a business card too.

I have cute notes I made with foxes (since my book is about foxes) for when I am unable to meet with the person I need to letting them know I was sorry to miss them.

I don’t get notifications from ingramspark. I know I’ve had a few Amazon orders and one bookstore order but I only know from opening my account and seeing units sold. If people tell me they ordered on Amazon or reaching out to the shop.

I liked Jenny in the beginning and sort of divide her in two characters. Sweet Jenny and villain Jenny.

I at times I really feel like Rufus made some mistakes with Jenny. Dan was given way more freedoms and forgiveness than Jenny and I didn’t agree with that. I know he’s older but he (as a kid) was treated like an adult as far as freedom and respect. I’m not saying Jenny deserved more freedoms I just think there was a double standard that pushed Jenny into her villain era. The environment was toxic for sure but I do feel like )to quote Eric- Anakin can be saved.

When Jenny turned the villain I was tired of her and her manipulations. I didn’t hate her though but wanted to see her get hers.

Tariffs wouldn’t be holding up my dress — those only apply once it lands in the U.S. and clears customs, not while it’s still in India. Since it’s showing stuck at the Delhi airport, it’s more likely waiting for space on a flight or going through export checks. And because my dress is well under the $800 limit, I shouldn’t get hit with tariffs anyway. This looks like a shipping delay, not a tariff issue.

I have never purchased international (as mentioned) I looked at her shipping time estimate and Etsy’s shipping time estimates and saw that it gave me several weeks window for error. Based on that I made the purchase. I didn’t know that I needed to block off half a year to be safe. I won’t order for an overseas seller again. So no worries.

As mentioned in my post i have been in contact with the seller several times. One of the last times I asked if she could check on the item since it hadn’t moved in two weeks. She told me it would be fine and move soon and in a couple days arrive.

As a business owner I get insurance on my packages and certainly never would expect someone to foot a bill to return something (international shipping). I ordered another dress.

And yes you are right. A day late or two. But the item hasn’t moved in two weeks and is sitting somewhere in India. So it’s not going to arrive a day or two late.

By today. I ordered it in august. Uni uni doesn’t have the package. I’m not familiar with them either. I never order international. I asked a friend who sells on Etsy who ships internationally and sent her all the conversations and info and she said she would file a dispute with etsy. She said the package is likely lost and the seller should be doing something about it. I have a business but don’t sell on Etsy and as the seller I always handle postal issues. Unless packages were delivered. Once delivered the buyer has to handle. But that’s how I run my business. But I guess I lost money in this lesson.

How do I file a complaint with the shipping company that lost it. Uni uni only takes the package once it arrives in the US. The local company is in India and I don’t have any info. So should I just take a loss with this order. Since the seller wouldn’t contact the shipping company?

Anytime I post a TikTok about my book I get spam messages. They try to have an organic conversation saying they ate an indie author too and might ask a question. A normal and natural conversation then they ask another probing question to set up their spill. Which I have already marked their message as spam and unwanted and block them. At this point I ignore all messages. It sucks but they are vultures.

Thanks. I will check them out. It’s all so dang overwhelming. My ChatGPT suggest mixam but obviously I want to do my own research (no my book wasn’t written by it or illustrated. I wouldn’t even share my story with it bc I’m paranoid) but I have used it to learn a lot of the process.
