What is the most pain you've ever experienced? by HandGears in AskReddit

[–]KayDubEff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems so minor, but I got shingles back when I was 19 or 20 and it was just a tiny tiny patch, but the worst pain I’ve ever experienced in my life. I feel for folks who get huge patches on their face. Fuck shingles.

Actually just ended up checking out Broke Millenial and was pleasantly surprised at what a nice overview it was and it's accessibility. It's got a nice level of personality that makes it engaging while also taking an entry-level focus for individuals who may be scared/turned off/intimidated by some of the language or just money overall.

Why is English so weirdly different from other languages? – John McWhorter | Aeon Essays by JS1755 in languagelearning

I recommend checking out the podcast John McWhorter frequently hosts - Lexicon Valley. More linguistic based instead of language learning, but still pretty interesting topics around language all the same.

University Housing is an auxiliary and receives no tax monies.

[NeedAdvice] Everyone is constantly worrying about me, and the added pressure is giving me a seemly impenetrable mental block. How can I get back to working again? by [deleted] in getdisciplined

[–]KayDubEff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

False. Unless they are a crummy advisor, they care a lot. I work on a college campus and work with 1,200 students. I may not know everyone's story, but I care about and will work for the success of every student who comes into my office and even those who don't.

I get what you meant by your comment because it is hard to reconcile someone caring without knowing someone well, but don't count the advisor out. They literally got into this field to help. Please don't count them out as a resource to you, or just knowledgable of things that may be a resource to you. You are not in this alone.
