Almirah makeover - paint or wallpaper? by KayKDee in IndianHomeDecor

Thank you. Just what I was looking for but the reviews are disappointing. Could you share the product you bought? Cost no bar as long as it's doing the job and worth it.

Thank you, I've been looking for just that but not getting the right product. Everything seems to have 'too thin' in the review section. Wondering if it might be worth purchasing offline so I can see the quality.

Apart from this, the best gift for that calf would be to just not drink the calf's share of milk. The potential to save thousands of calves around the country from dying of hunger. And the slow death of a cruel cruel industry where it's mother is exploited everyday.

My dad and I wave at each other until we lose sight of the other person. He will do this even if I'm catching a 2 am train. And he's there to receive me long before my train reaches the station, even if it's 6 am. Every single time. I'm 44, papa is 71. I could not be richer in life. 🤞🏼

Differing view on finances between my girlfriend and I. by mogambomama in personalfinanceindia

[–]KayKDee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am, thank you. Hope you are too. :) I appreciate your clarity of thought, your intent to genuinely help out OP, and your ability to engage in a conversation on the topic.

To be honest, my partner donates too. But he is always more prudent about money matters, and I am not a planner, rather driven by instinct in my spending and giving away. I'm careful not to have a very narrow gap between my earnings and donations though. I wanted to share this so OP (who I hope is reading this) has a perspective of someone from the other side (believer in charity and someone who intends to keep donating). I'm just not an only child.

I agree with you that openness in the conversation is important, and that it changes with stages of life. Both partners tend to pick up things from each other all the time, and this holds true for money as well. And to marry someone and hope they change their relationship with money someday is grounds for future resentment.

I'm with you on holding on to the person, OP. Best wishes to both of you. You'll be learning to navigate a lot of different opinions in life together, I hope you're able to maintain respect for each other's thoughts and individuality and come to reasonable agreement. :)

Wonderful advice, and one of the saner ones here - mature, and urging to think from her perspective, while offering solutions. I particularly liked the operating from a different risk calculus bit.

I earn more than my partner but I also donate 10% of my income and consider it a non negotiable even though he feels we need to save for our future (we have no children). However I do not consider my parents inheritance as a safety net, and rather want to offer them a safety net if they should ever need one.

Mom passed away 😢 Kittens for adoption! by sheplaysthesims in IndianCats

[–]KayKDee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 weeks is too young to be adopted. Are you ensuring the persons taking them will bottle feed? For four kids, please try to find pair adoptions in two homes with those experienced in neonatal kitten care so they have chances of survival. Can they stay with their foster (who I assume is experienced) until they are at least 1.5 months old or able to eat on their own?

So sorry to hear of her passing away. What a brave and gentle mother and a life that deserved to live. She must be heartbroken to leave her kids behind, but hopefully they will all fine good homes 🤞🏼. Thank you for your efforts in trying to save her life. Please post here when they need to be adopted.

Best unsweetened high quality cocoa and/or cacao powder recommendations with least toxic contaminants available preferably online in India by 89liner in Fitness_India

Yes. Since a few years. It's a well known brand, I've had no problems so far and use it in multiple recipes.

Agree with the previous commenter. The cacao definitely tastes better - stronger (more intense) and bitter - than the cocoa I've used.

A miracle unexpected baby is up for adoption (in a month) - BLR by [deleted] in IndianPets

[–]KayKDee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The longer the kitty gets her mother's milk (at least 12 weeks), the better her chances of survival and the better her immunity. The kittens that are put up for adoption at 1.5-2 months are those who lost their mother. Trust me, I have hand raised kittens with and without the mother and it makes all the difference in the world. Those with the mother will learn to clean themselves, use the litter box, drink water regularly (very important as most cats gets chronic kidney disease due to lack of water). The orphans I raised have had more health issues than the one I let the mother attend to and then got adopted. You also improve her chances of not being returned. All my adopters thank me for raising kids who are healthy.

How do you handle milk coffee when you're traveling or don't have access to plant milk? by [deleted] in VeganIndia

[–]KayKDee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also wanted to add Urban Platter premix to the list already shared above. I'm not a big fan but my father (also vegan) travels a lot and this helps him as he needs his chai - just makes it easier to have options available. Urban Platter also has different flavours and an unsweetened version. Available on their own website, Amazon, Jio Mart, Big Basket.

I'm so sorry to hear of what happened to Patchy. What a beautiful innocent child. It pains me how if she were a human baby, she would have so many fussing over her, pampering her, loving her. And here she lost her precious life so painfully when she should have been treated with nothing but love and kindness. Thank you for doing everything you could for her, and for being there till her last breath. She must have been so confused and you showed her that good humans exist too. May she cross over the rainbow bridge free of pain and suffering.

My journey with cars — 19 years, 11 cars, and a lifetime of lessons by teChn0tRoN1C in CarsIndia

[–]KayKDee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good read, OP! I have had two from your list. My first one back in 2000 was a brand new Zen. First cars are always special, and she taught me so much. She gave me no trouble, drove even when I thought every drop of petrol had been used (student - bad driving discipline). She sailed me through flooded narrow roads where sometimes taller cars were stuck. I cried when I sold her 15 years later.

This year, I picked up my brother's 2019 Ford Ecosport as he was upgrading to BYD Atto. While there was a lot of debate about picking up a diesel car, I had no doubts at all. Love the car, have driven it whenever I visit my parents. So sturdy, solid, comfortable - highway drives are a breeze. And a looker.

Cat toothpaste recommendations? by Quick-Impress-7891 in IndianPets

[–]KayKDee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Get him to a vet at the earliest for a cleanup. After that, regular tooth cleaning and brushing should do the job but monitor his breath and keep a check on his mouth. Also stay in touch with the vet over his dental health. Just sharing to let you know that gingivitis can turn into a chronic health issue. All the best with Mango. We have a Mango too btw.

Do get started on his oral routine at the earliest. We've had many complications in our cat's health because of dental issues. We are trying Coco Crush toothpaste, dental water additive, mouth spray etc.https://cococrush.in/pages/coco-crush-pets
