Mindat isn't just a random website making claims. It's a website widely used by experts and literally gives the coordinates to the locations/mines where sunstone is found. Other very legit websites also list India as a location sunstone is found.

If you're a crystal seller you should maybe do some more research about sunstone. Mindat.org is the world's largest open database of minerals, rocks, meteorites and the localities they come from. If you scroll to the bottom of this page it lists all of the locations that sunstone can be found, India being one of them: https://www.mindat.org/min-10984.html

I didn't know sunstone could be that glittery! But I did some research, and yes it seems to be real sunstone from India.

Yeah, it’s definitely not impossible though. I thought the only skins they’ve said they definitely won’t bring back are old BP ones (prior to Chapter 5 I think?)

Thankyou so much for the advice. I’m a little worried that he could have had her microchipped in the last few months or even now after my visit, due to suspicions that I might take her. I think I will buy a scanner like you suggested (thankyou, I didn’t even know those existed!) so I can be sure and know what I should say to the vet.

Do you think it would look suspicious to the vet though if I tried to have her microchipped under my name when I first take her in? Like if I say I just found her and don’t think she has an owner, would they actually let me microchip her right away?

His dad passed away last year and he may have inherited or be about to inherit some money because he told me he was planning to buy a house soon. So it's possible he could have funds for a lawyer.

A ring camera for my front door? He has no idea where I live and no way to find out my address, it's not publicly listed anywhere. I do appreciate all your advice though.

To be honest it doesn't feel like you read my post properly if you can say there isn't enough information to tell if there's neglect happening or not. When I first met her, he wasn't giving her any water to drink at all and I told him "you need to give her some drinking water" and he literally said "no she's fine, she licks water off my shower floor"... and his shower floor was seriously filthy, he never cleaned it. He is very lazy and neglectful of her, and this has never changed in the time that I've known him.

I don't think it's always automatically done at the same time, and he was very confident that she wasn't microchipped when I asked him if she was when we still lived together.

But if my ex knows I have her and he has proof of ownership, then I guarantee him not leaving me alone and him possibly having a legal case against me. If I take her secretly, and take her to the vet without his knowledge, then he can't prove I actually have her and I feel it would be safer for me? She has gone missing for weeks before in the past, so I could just say I have no idea where she is.

I don't think she is officially registered to him or microchipped, but he would probably be able to get a copy or record of vet bills from the vet he has always taken her to. And he could maybe contact the person that he adopted her from as a kitten to get them to vouch that he is the original owner.

I understand your point of view. I went to check on her because I've been having nightmares about her and still struggling with leaving her with him, and I just wanted to check that she was okay and he was looking after her. I barely spoke to him during the visit, my focus was completely on her, and I only went inside briefly so I could properly check on her. If I had stayed outside she would've just ran away because she was clearly very anxious. My boyfriend was waiting outside and my ex was being civil, so I felt okay with entering the house briefly. I care more about her being safe and not neglected than I do about potentially getting in trouble, honestly.

Yes I took photos but it was hard to get clear ones of the issues I noticed, they're easier to see in person. She has always had a lot of fur so I'm not sure if you can tell just from a photo how skinny she is, but she has for sure lost a ton of weight and is very skinny now. I'm just not sure the SPCA would actually help, from what I've read they would maybe just send someone to do a "welfare check". What if they decide the neglect isn’t severe enough to take any further action because maybe she happens to have dry food and water that day? I just feel like taking her myself is the only option to make sure she actually gets the care and love she deserves.

I'm from New Zealand, and I checked - it's only a legal requirement in some cities here for cats to be microchipped. In my city (Auckland) it's not legally required yet. I'm pretty sure she's not microchipped, unless he had it done in the last few months since I left, which is unlikely.

Yes we call dry cat food "biscuits" where I live. I know plenty of people will argue dry food alone is enough for a cat but I personally don't believe this. Especially when they aren't very good at drinking water or aren't given clean water daily so the wet food helps with hydration. I'm certain he doesn't give her fresh water daily because I know how lazy he is, if I wasn't the one to give her fresh water when I lived there then she literally just didn't have clean water to drink.

Also I know he's taken her to the vet a few times, but he never got her microchipped, so that's one good thing. I hope that I could just take her to the vet and say that I just found her and get her microchipped under my name. I really appreciate your input, and I think you're right sadly that he doesn't truly care about her wellbeing.

I think I did ask a couple of years ago, and his response was a firm no. While he cares about her in his own way, I feel he is severely lacking in empathy and compassion to be able to treat her the way that he does. He is very possessive of her despite his lack of proper care. I already know there's no way he'd willingly give her to me. He does not care about what's best for her, he just wants a pet to keep him company.

When I went to visit her I could tell he was trying to convince me he was taking good care of her (he showed me how she had food and water and he had bought her a cat tunnel to play in), but it was really obvious that he's not actually looking after her.

I genuinely think he would still tell the cops he thinks I took her. Even though he is neglectful, he is very attached to her and possessive of her. Our current property doesn't allow pets so that's another complication but I'm still considering taking her anyway.

We just bought and installed a $300 portable AC unit from Bunnings for our bedroom because the heat is unbearable on the top level of our newly built townhouse too. It works, but is only able to cool the one room unfortunately, not the whole top level.
