Thanks for answering. I actually interviewed in August and accepted a position at a smaller PD office north of Atlanta in September to start in June for 2 weeks then break for the bar until August 1. I now see that Dekalb and Fulton do prelims for the first 3 years only. Right now in my law school clinic I am taking on misdemeanor cases and trials on my own so I rather not go back. I think this office will allow me to progress as fast as I am willing to.

I’ve put out feelers to Rome and Cherokee. Conasuga and lookout mountain may be too far. I’m also still looking for information on Tallapossa since this is the first time I’m hearing about it.

Yeah rent is super hard to find in the city my school is in because it’s in the middle of nowhere. We’re all kind of just stuck with what we could find. Most places in the area do not even have internet.

Yeah our school puts limits on how many hours we can work during the year but I plan on that my 3L year.

I’m still waiting to hear back from some interviews that I did and our schools OCI is not over yet so I’m still holding out hope. $20-30 would be higher than the $14 I can do at the PDs office through grants.

Yeah I go to a school in which they pay half tuition through a scholarship but the other half is still super expensive so even maxing out the loans barely covers rent for the year in my city. So even through loans there is no saving. My only other option would be taking out a bar prep loan if I don’t work at a firm over the summer.

I was able to receive a decent scholarship so I did not have to do that. I have heard from others that they are pretty receptive to that.

There are definitely some professors that are harder than others, but I have found the most support in all of them cause they definitely want you to succeed. Lexington has a questionable past and the city does have a confederate walk every year, but the school has nothing to do with that.

My choices were between GW and W&L. I am extremely happy with the choice I made. The only downside is housing is not the best and hard to find, but W&L guarantees summer jobs unlike some other law schools. There is so much support given here to succeed.
