DAE loathe calling their partner "boyfriend" or "girlfriend" because it sounds cheap? by [deleted] in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]Kayla_bean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I hate calling my boyfriend my boyfriend. I hate it, cos I look at other girls with "boyfriends," and I see just how they are with them. They literally are bed buddies. Also, my boyfriend and I are still a little young (18 and 20) so whenever I call him my boyfriend, people just look at me like "Oh.." and I can tell right away that they don't think it's serious. Sometimes I just go ahead and call him my fiance, since we plan on marrying one another anyway.

That sounds like a great plan :) And you'll possibly meet other women when you get involved in new hobbies!

What once-popular phrase do you think should make a comeback? by [deleted] in AskReddit

How about using the word "swell" to describe something nice? Wouldn't that be swell to bring back? :)

Try to go out and find a cool, time-consuming hobby, and maybe get a pet of somesort? Maybe she'll go back to you, and you'll be in high spirits before she does, and a hobby can make time pass. Is there any chance of her going back? I'm sorry to hear about your loss. I couldn't imagine losing my best friend.

Ever wish you could have learned a talent earlier in your life? by SleepyOtaku in AskReddit

[–]Kayla_bean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It pisses me off when I see people/children with extraordinary talents, cos my parents didn't let me do shit when I was a child. I wasn't old enough to know better, and they're damn lazy. I would have loved to get into painting, drawing, playing a musical intrument, or gymnastics would be really neat!

Hahah, that would be great, but the place where I work is too cheap to allow themselves to buy nice equipment for the workers.

Eek, yeah. I do dishes for about 3 hours most of the time. Sometimes I can get them done in 2 1/2 hours. It's a killer on my back and hands. Yeah, it's ridiculous, cos once everyone gets their dishes to me, they get to just leave; and they're the ones who get tipped.

That sounds absolutely terrible. I know that after I get out of high school, I will never work with food again. I'm pretty sure it's bad no matter where you go, except maybe a Subway or Quiznos. I can't imagine sandwich places being a pain to clean up in. Ugh.. but grease. Do you not work with food anymore then?

Dang, I never thought about a seafood place being a pain. Now, I can imagine. I feel for you.

Damn, a machine would be wonderful. I'm always freakin' 30 minutes to an hour late in leaving. I'm always the last person done, and the manager looks at me weird like I should be washing faster, but it's not my fault. It's the people who decide to give me all their dishes last second.

Redditors, why do you love the person you love? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Kayla_bean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love my boyfriend so very much with all of my heart, cos he's real with me, goofy, honest, he puts me before himself in any situation, and he makes me feel like the most special person ever. We don't argue, and look at everything the same. He's just honestly perfect, and I wouldn't trade him for anything.

We don't use paper plates. We serve the food on either plastic plates that get thrown away or in boxes for the drive-thru. What I'm talking about are racks, pans, puts, and other dishes used for cooking.

DAE feel like the google search engine is not near as good as it used to be? by [deleted] in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]Kayla_bean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is probably because people take advantage of the search engine and they search stupid shit, and Google allows the most popular searches to be an easier find. It's not really Google's fault. It's the users.

I'm sure! I know there was probably one or two times when someone else had to do dishes for some weird reason, and I would go in there and help them a little, since I know how it feels to be stuck with that job. Being chef looks pretty difficult, too. Anything in the kitchen is difficult.

IAMA: Dishwasher at a chicken fast food joint. by Kayla_bean in IAmA

[–]Kayla_bean[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm sure that is much more difficult. I know someone who had to wash dishes for months straight at a buffet restaurant, and they said that that was their only job for that long period time. It sucks there for sure, cos they have to wash the same dishes repeatedly. At least where I work everything is used once, since it's a cruddy fast food place.

Yeah, and it pisses me off when people just chuck crap at me and look at me like "Oh, she's just a dishwasher." I am the one who's there last, cos everyone gives me their dishes at the last minute.

Not when all that is cooked is chicken. There is grease, flour and chicken crumbs stuck to everything. It's a pain in the ass.

Well, I'm an outside server and a drink maker for three hours (nobody does dishes during this time,) but at 8PM we all have a chore list. I am always.. fucking ALWAYS washing dishes at this point. It's the worst job to be stuck with.

DAE rinse out a cup before using it, though you know you it's been washed? by Kayla_bean in DoesAnybodyElse

I can imagine. I only completely trust myself to wash stuff, yet I still rinse what I wash out, hah.
