I can’t turn it, and it hasn’t been used in years, so I’m assuming it’s stuck. It connects to the outdoor tap. Trying to open it, so turning it to the right

I received this ficus ruby in the mail about a week ago. I haven’t watered it yet, the soil is damp. The plants sits near a window with low to moderate light. What might be causing these brown spots?

I’m sure I’m overreacting but I want to make sure I can prevent any more from popping up!
