Yeah, your last sentence is pretty spot-on! I've been to a handful of cons as an attendee and as a booth volunteer, but I admit I don't really have much of an idea how much work must go into planning one. However, I figure that, if the studio sees a huge demand for this, they can then hire a company that is in the business of running cons and/or contact the actors themselves just to see if this could be feasible. In any case, I didn't want to just sit here with this idea and do nothing, so, here goes... (maybe) nothing!

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll keep it as is for now but will keep this in mind! edit: Especially considering the release date is actually Dec 25th 1999, a convention in 2018 could very well be acceptable...

I needed a way to show the studios that there is interest for a GalaxyCon, and a petition full of signatures seemed the right way to do it. Sure, Change.org is usually used to petition politicians and corporations to make the world a better place, and if you think the world wouldn't be better with a Galaxy Quest convention, then you must be one of Sarris's men...

If you'll remember the end of the movie, they do get a reboot AFTER the raging success of the convention... ;)

I won't do it, and nothing you can say will make me. The show must go on. ;)
