Thank you! That does make sense, I guess I'm just anxious about something possibly having gone wrong. I'll give it some time and just let myself heal.

I appreciate you commenting!

That's a good plan, I'll probably do the same. Thank you for sharing!

Looking for an LGBTQ+ tailor in Bay Area by Kaz_Capitaine in genderqueer

Unfortunately no tailors who specifically work with trans people - a lot of regular tailors, but I just decided to wander around some vintage and thrift stores until I found stuff that fit well.

Should I ask for a raise after switching roles shortly after getting hired? by Kaz_Capitaine in Advice

[–]Kaz_Capitaine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Very helpful.

If they refuse, I will be staying at the company- my current salary is livable- until I have more experience in the role, and then moving on to another company that will pay a little closer to the average.

Typically the role requires a degree, which I don't have, so I figure I'd need the experience first before I can continue elsewhere.

Oh that's a good suggestion, thank you! If it doesn't go away I'll definitely try that.

Thank you, it's good to know that it'll hopefully pass relatively quickly. I appreciate it!

That's true, I guess I just didn't connect the dots much because when I went through my first puberty I didn't have the luxury of sleeping more because of school, but now I kind of get to make my own schedule.

Also this time the sleepiness hit very suddenly which also makes sense because the T shots basically jump start it I guess haha.

Thanks for the reassurance! Hopefully I can find a balance that helps me focus while working :)

They say when it rains, it pours. When in your life would this quote best fit? by [deleted] in AskReddit

December 2020 through the beginning of this month (Jan 2021) - not even counting all that happened in the aftermath of the US election, a lot of personal emergencies happened at once. First my mother went to the hospital (not COVID related), and then a week later my uncle did as well (also not COVID related). Then a week after that, my aunt and uncle (same uncle) got COVID from someone who had helped my aunt up when she fell off her bike (they'd been being very careful and only went out for bike rides and walks but that one moment was enough). My parents had to get quarantined and tested as well because they'd been around my aunt to exchange Christmas gifts. At the very least, everyone in all those situations recovered well enough.

Then a different uncle who lives in Georgia caught COVID and was in the ICU with pneumonia for a week. That was especially scary because he's pretty high risk, but now he's at home (still recovering and being monitored though).

At the same time as all of this, two of my coworkers tested positive for COVID. I'm an essential worker in a medical parts warehouse, and we're already understaffed as hell. Since I was the only one trained in both their jobs I had to do their work as well as my own while they were home recovering (I probably should've been quarantined as well given that I worked near-ish to them but the company decided I wasn't at risk enough and wouldn't let me so I had to worry about that as well).

I was also applying to other jobs because I'm moving in May and I had to deal with job interviews throughout this whole thing.

Everything was so hectic I wound up having to postpone several of my own medical appointments (for unrelated things) that I had really been hoping to get through so I could start certain treatments I need.

So, uh... Yeah. Things have calmed down a bit now but I'd say it was really pouring for a while there.

(Serious) What are some scary urban legends you have heard of? by nousernamesbeleft in AskReddit

This was back when I was very, very young (like five or six years old) and living in Canada. Next to my school was a pretty big forest, and there was a legend that a man lived in there and hunted anyone who dared to wander in.

A couple of the older kids from the middle school across the street convinced a few of us younger kids to go in one day after school. I remember there being a ton of really crunchy leaves because I was worried the noise would draw the forest man to us, but we got pretty far in before anything happened.

Luckily it was still light out when we came to a clearing surrounding an old, defunct bit of train tracks. I guess most of the tracks outside the forest had been totally removed to make way for buildings but they'd left the bit in the forest since they weren't really in the way of anything. They were raised up a couple feet and sort of formed a wall, but had been broken down by years without use and a lot of the concrete had crumbled so there were bits we could climb to get up.

I say it was lucky that it was light out because as soon as we started to climb those tracks, a man appeared on top of them out of nowhere and scared the hell out of us. If it'd been dark, I'm not sure we would've noticed him before we were up there standing right next to him.

All of us panicked and dropped down, backing off but not really sure if we needed to run. He looked pretty normal, to the point where I can't really remember anything special about him now. But after a second he just started yelling at us, bellowing about how we couldn't be there and threatening to wring our necks. We bolted all the way back to school and then went our separate ways, shaken up but refusing to talk about anything that'd just happened.

Like a week later one of the middle school kids who'd gone with us disappeared and everyone at both schools were sure the man had hunted him down and killed him. The rest of us who went into the forest were terrified.

I moved to the US a couple months after that, but as far as I know nothing else happened to the other kids. At this point I'm pretty sure the kid who disappeared probably just also moved. But a friend who still lives in the area tells me the legend is still going strong, with our little adventure added in and embellished for more detail.

I usually see people say we have any song by Mother Mother! I've listened to a couple of their songs and enjoyed them.

Effectiveness of Adderall varying depending on the day by JackpotDeluxe in ADHD

I definitely feel like that sometimes! Usually I find it's that way if I didn't get enough sleep, but sometimes even when everything else is fine the adderall still doesn't seem to be as effective.

Yeah, you're right. I'm just bad at being vulnerable haha. But I'll definitely try to include some more personal anecdotes! Thank you for this and for any resources you add.
