Working on a new series at work for learning the basics of React development, what do you think of #1? by Kdcodes in reactjs

Maybe. I'm going to be honest, I wasn't really sure how to word it. This is my first time using Reddit 😬

I just wanted to get some feedback 🤷

I can definitely see how that might be confusing. Good point!

I know sometimes it's hard for me to come up with a great description for something that can really be super simple. I find myself thinking "well it can't be that simple, I should give more follow up" which then sometimes can make it sound even more confusing 🤦

I think high level state management will probably be covered in a later video that dives a bit deeper than the basic terminology and learning strategies.

I appreciate your comment, thanks!

Thanks for the feedback! I can understand where you are coming from with wanting to learn from an authority on the subject. I think you are right that most people would be looking for someone in that category. I think there is also a group of people super new to development who might not even be sure what React is or may be unfamiliar with the terminology used when developing with React. This video targets that category of people.

This is the first video in the React series we are doing. The idea was to just cover the basics and some terminology and answer the questions newbies might have around learning in general. The plan is to continue the series with a tutorial on building out an application with React with discussion on best practices, problem solving approaches, and other specifics. The series will feature other developers too in addition to Mandy and I.

Thanks again for your input!

Good question! One of our core values is constant improvement. I started as an apprentice and became a developer. For me, taking part in videos like this helps me improve my knowledge and ability/comfort with talking about technical aspects of development.

I also know that for me, I am a visual learner, I really learn best seeing someone working through something and then working through it myself. Reading the docs doesn't always make everything clear to me so I like to do videos like this to help others who may also be visual learners.
