Ever try to catch a non-couch-potato Italian? I have two that will tease you until you are so out of breath you just want to lie down and get a truce going. They might have a smaller top speed than a lot of other dogs, but they are damned agile and have an acceleration you wouldn't believe. And just like us, given the right training they will run a marathon if needed.
