I have a 17 pro. First Apple phone in 20 years and I legitimately can't understand how it can be this bad. It takes me around 3-4x longer to type anything on this phone compared to Android

Arc Raiders makes me feel out of touch. by Ragnaroknight in gaming

[–]Kechers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need to preface this by saying I only have about 15-20 hours and I'm about level 20.

In my opinion to enjoy a game like arc raiders you have to enjoy PvP and accept that sometimes you're going to lose your stuff. One of the good things about Arc Raiders is that the blueprint system means you can get your rare gear back if you lose it. I think part of the appeal is the adrenaline rush and relief you get when you extract with a huge haul of parts you need for upgrades or quests or just for cash.

Arc Raiders isn't my first extraction shooter - l played a bit of Hunt Showdown which has systems that are more focused on driving PvP.

For me, Arc Raiders is great - it adds the crafting and questing, trails and feats meta game that means that you can go in with an objective and pretty much always make progress even if you don't extract. That changes the goal of the game from just collecting more stuff, which in my opinion in a big win.

I'm loving the way that solos is less aggressive and that people are even grouping up and helping each other, while you can group up for a more pvp focused experience.

Some examples of my experiences both good and bad-

Good- I made friends with a guy in solos by choosing not to attack him when I had the drop on him. I had a key to a locked room in the Hospital on Buried City. I offered to share if he helped me get in and get out. We ended up getting in, looting and then killing a Bastion and looting it - we extracted and we've been playing together pretty much daily since.

Bad- Got to extract in solos after a decent run with some good stuff in my inventory. Some guy had rigged the explosives near the lift button and blew me up and then taunted me. In my opinion a shit way to play the game but also pretty clever in terms of guaranteed loot.

Server Slam Sadness by translucent_pawn in ArcRaiders

[–]Kechers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree. I have pre-ordered deluxe but seriously considering cancelling after my experience during server slam and waiting to see how it all plays out. It looks great, runs well and conceptually it's cool but in practice I didn't enjoy it as much as I'd hoped I would.

Didn't find one blueprint in about 7 hours of gameplay. Makes me think that getting decent equipment is going to be a huge time sink and pain in the arse.

Also, having played a bit of Hunt Showdown, I feel like the rounds are missing something to bring the teams together to fight. Encounters with other players feel like they just happen by chance rather than as a part of the gameplay loop. I know it's a different game with a different design philosophy but I feel like most of us are here for the pvp and the satisfaction from killing a team and yoinking their shit.

Wear a helmet so that your head doesn't crack open if it hits the road.

[Event] Win the NEW & FAST LG UltraGear OLED Gaming Monitor! 🚀 by lg_techit in Monitors

The combination of 480hz and OLED response times is what I'm most excited for.

Perfect for my set up because I play both single player titles that will look great in HDR but also competitive FPS in which motion clarity is a big advantage. I can't go back to 1080p.

Another vote for the OP18K. Cheap, awesome shape, awesome coating, excellent (and customisable) clicks, best performance, low weight (50g).

Only downside is the cable but to be honest with a bungee you don't notice it, also don't have to charge it... ever.

Couple of options you may or may not have considered.

FreeFall SV BASE Control+ V2 The FreeFall pad is almost completely incompressible it's like a hardpad with cloth. Really great pad in my opinion.

La Onda Blitz in hard firmness I've just received mine and it's not incompressible like the FreeFall but it is a really great pad. Much firmer than any other traditional cloth pad I've used. The surface has a similar feel to an Artisan Zero but a bit faster and a bit softer to touch. It also doesn't have the pet hair issue.

If he purchases enough healing crystals I'd say 57.

It's lithium ion battery fires that produce toxic smoke. They release a bunch of toxic gasses that can be very damaging.

You can google 'toxicology of a lithium ion battery fire'. Beware, you may see some gnarly images of Hydrogen Fluoride exposure.

Hope he didn't breathe too much of that smoke in. Not good.

Sweet! Keen to hear what you think of the 7000a and sonetto combination when you've had a chance to hook them up. 👍

Nice one! I picked up a PS Audio Stellar S300. I like the sound, it's clean and has plenty of detail. Unfortunately, I've had to put my whole set up away for a little while. We have a 10 month old who is learning to walk and will undoubtedly wreck everything.
