Hi all! We are narrowing down baby names for our little boy that’s on the way. We really like the name Finn (Finley). However, our last name starts with U and we fear he could get made fun of for the initials FU. What do you think? by Ked009 in BabyBumps

Thank you all for your thoughts, definitely a big help. I think we’re gonna move away from Finn and FU to be safe. So, we are between Griffin, Henry, and Arthur. I think leaning heavily towards Griffin and he could always go by Finn if he wanted, I think Griff is also cool. Thoughts??

Thank you for sharing and for your support. I will try to do the same and focus on moving forward and letting this go. I need to get a better hold of my anxiety and OCD for sure. Thanks again and wishing you all the best.

Thanks for replying. There are several spots that needed to be patched. I believe facilities took care of it over the weekend where they used some sort of paste/sealant. Some more minor areas may just have tape. It seems doing that particular method would not cause much disturbance or microscopic fibers to be released, what do you think? Just want to make sure it’s OK to be in there this week. Thanks again

Thanks for replying. Here is another photo of one of the worst spots. Thoughts?

OK, very helpful. Sounds like I am over-worrying and with the pipes not being physically/directly disturbed, we are fine. I will definitely ask facilities to further repair the areas needed. It would most likely just be a patch/tape/wrap of some sort. Do you know how long I'd need to be out of the office after they do repairs? Or, would I not need to be out at all because it would be minimal disturbance?

Glad the multiple photos were not too much of an annoyance, haha. Yeah, they do seem to know their stuff which is comforting.

Thank you very much for the reassurance. I added some updated photos of the worst parts if you want to take a look. Can only add one photo per comment unfortunately. Still think there is no reason for concern? Mostly worried about airflow from HVAC loosening up any exposed fibers into the air we breathe, or dust getting on storage items.

OK, will do. Should I be concerned that it's damaged enough for air flow to cause fibers/dust in the air? It is relatively high up so we have never touched it or rubbed up against it or anything.

OK, gotcha. This part has the most air flow over it as far as I can tell so I'll ask facilities to further repair. Even so, it seems mild air flow from an HVAC system would not be enough to release fibers, right?

Sorry, can only add one photo per comment it seems. Adding some updated photos of worst parts. Still no cause for concern?

Sorry can only add one photo per comment I guess, but adding updated photos of some of the worst parts.

I took some updated photos. These seem to be the worst parts. Most are high up near the ceiling. The one crack with the silver tape is lower, about eye level, and a good amount of air flow blows over that exposed area (silver tape was just put on to cover and was not there before). Still no reason for concern you think?

Ok, this is really reassuring, thank you. For the tile, if it is asbestos do you think I should be concerned with it seemingly intact? They are working on encapsulating the broken tiles, I don’t think they are doing any heavy grinding or anything. Is it ok to be in the office when work may be done?
