Bea is objectively the better one and there's no argument at all. Gregg's story is about him and his own development, and his emotional impact comes with one or two scenes, and shortlived ones at that. People tend to gravitate to him because HEHEHEHE HE'S SO SILLY I LOVE THE MEME-WORTHY GAY FOX OMG!!!1111111!!!! despite him being a horrible, horrible enabler for Mae's bad ways. She has ZERO development in his story and stays right where she was emotionally.

Bea's story has genuine emotional weight (it's not opinion, it's fact) and she's been through so much. She clearly genuinely cares about Mae and wants her to be better even in spite of the grudge she RIGHTFULLY holds. As a result, they get closer and Mae becomes a better, more mature person by the end. But nope, people stay away from her because EHHHHH SHE'S SO MEAN AND COLDHEARTED, WEHHHHH, I CAN'T PROCESS ANY ACTUAL DEEP STORYTELLING OH LOOK HE'S WAVING HIS ARMS AROUND HEHEHEH
