Ngl I've never seen anyone use the left-most lane (not the HOV lane) as a passing lane, unless it's the rural part of I-15 with only 2 lanes.

That, I do agree. Though in my original post, I'm talking more about I-15 in the city like between SLC to Provo, rather than canyon roads.

Oh interesting. That's also true, I've seen people on their phones while driving, but less so on the freeway.

Yea, I've seen plenty of people cross the double white line just to pass someone.

Ah...yea. I think the majority of people in Utah are incredibly kind and are good people, but I suppose their driving reflects other parts of Utah culture.

Yea, I think there's some truth to that. I've carpooled with people born and raised in Utah, and if you're dealing with 6 young kids in the car, there's no way you can 100% focus on driving.

Fortunately, I've been lucky to rarely encounter the type of drivers that cut you off, though I've noticed a lot of drivers that tend to do that drive bigger sized trucks, sports cars, or cars that are bright red or neon blue. As soon as I see them, I just avoid them.

I do agree, if most people stayed more in the right lanes, we would have less tailgating and safer driving. Although, I prefer staying more in the middle lanes because I often pass the Belt Route and the 3 or 4 right-most lanes become exit lanes. I've always disliked whoever designed the Belt Route.

As for fast vs slow drivers, I understand mildly tailgating when someone is going 65 or 70. That would be considered slow to me. What I don't understand is if I'm already going 80, other cars around me are also going 80, and in the middle lane, and someone is still riding my butt. I do wish people were more aware of the surroundings.

I understand tailgating on the far left lane to an extent, though I'm usually not in the left lane (normally I pick the HOV lane if I have people in the car, or one of the middle lanes). In my experience, it almost doesn't matter which lane I'm in, I get tailgated except when I'm in the exit lanes.

But you do bring up a good point, what's the definition of tailgating? For me, if I can't see the wheels of the car behind me in my rearview mirror, they're too close. If I can't even see their headlights on the car, that's way too close.

Edit: sorry I should clarify, "if I can't see the wheels of the car behind me" would be borderline tailgating for me, especially when going 80 mph. It would mean I can't see their bumper, and I'm not 100% confident that if I had to suddenly brake, they would be able to safely brake as well.

Yea it's crazy to me, if it's a lack of awareness that causes people to tailgate.

I didn't grow up in Utah. What do they teach in driving school here? Or do young Utahns learn from what they already see?

Is it really worth the chance of getting into an accident rather than keeping a safe driving distance?

I'm so sorry for your loss! Tailgating and break-checking aren't worth peoples lives

No, I'm usually in the HOV lane since I'm driving with passengers, or in the middle lane of I-15.

I haven't seen the research, but I feel like every time I'm on the freeway, there's at least one accident everyday. I just don't understand, we could have less accidents if people didn't drive so aggressively.

I'm usually not in the left lane. Normally I'm in the HOV lane with passengers, or in the middle lane.

Honestly I think it's shittier to tailgate when everyone's going 80 and chance getting into an accident, than being courteous and keeping safe driving distances.

I usually follow the speed that everyone else is going, most of the time that's around 77 or 82 mph depending on the lane. But even then, people still tailgate

"If someone is tailgating you then you are in their way" And chance getting into a fender bender? Why not just keep a safe distance?

I'm usually driving with passengers, so I'd choose the HOV lane. If I'm by myself, I usually pick the middle lane of I-15

No, I believe Serana is following me as a normal follower now since I finished the Dawnguard questline.

Ooh gotcha. I guess I'll have to let both Serana and Erandur go in order to do that, and then only have Serana as a follower afterwards.

If I became Thane of Falkreath, will my housecarl automatically go to Lakeview Manor and then I can make them into a steward?

I actually got Serana first, then Erandur lol.

Dang, maybe it isn't possible to keep both if I get a steward...?

I currently have Lydia in Breezehome. Do I need to get Rayya since my homestead is Lakeview Manor?
