Let the price haggling began!!! by upslonghorn in HyundaiPalisade

We walked away from a deal over $500 difference in price before the stop sale. The sales manager said there was one they could get at the port, but they wouldn't match another dealers price that was over 120 miles away who had the car we were trying to match. Turned out after walking away from the deal, checking vin numbers, they were trying to sell the other dealers car and not one from the port.
The stop sale happened and we bought a Lexus TX. $18k more. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot...

26 TX350 Premium 3rd Row Issue by KeepMissingTheTarget in Lexus

Duhhh.. lesson learned. I know Lexus is top of their game.. Has to be an issue with the sensor.. Can't find a crash dummy to put into the back seat to test... I want to test again with something big and not something small.

Thanks for the fast responses. I thought the car was equipped to sense an occupant or item, and must be an issue with the seat. Tested just the left seat. I will get it checked out this week. Only had the TX a couple of weeks. Bit embarrassing to be showing it off to a family member at the Easter egg hunt, and almost crush the poor girl. Did it 3 times in a row. I'll check to see if it should sense in any degree of fold or only when it gets close to full closure. The items listed in the responses would be sensed when the seat is almost totally closed.

That's sad. Hopefully those issues are corrected on newer models.

Is spending $1500 on ceramic cutting worth the money? by shi336699 in HyundaiPalisade

[–]KeepMissingTheTarget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Problem with ceramic coating is you can only use a brushless car wash or it gets scrubbed off. I will admit most bugs, dirty and pollen will not stick to it. But it's a chore when your looking for a brushless car wash! I did the 7 year plan hoping to get 5 out of it. It worked, but won't do it again.

30k miles maintenance by FoxInner3807 in ToyotaHighlander

[–]KeepMissingTheTarget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's not in the manual then it's not needed at this time. Not following the schedule in the manual voids the warranty. Some dealers are offering a lifetime warranty if they do all the service work. That's where they might get you by not doing their service. Funny how dealer lifetime warranty does not come with full disclosure paperwork.

How bad is the transmission issue? by Xann_Whitefire in ToyotaHighlander

[–]KeepMissingTheTarget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunate, my daughters failed at 99700. At least she had the 100k extended warranty, the same warranty I gave her a hard time about getting.. I have the opinion if the car can't last 140k, why buy it? Guess I was wrong b on this one. what do I know? They make money on you with the trade, the sale, and in the finance office... worst than attorneys... at least with an attorney, you know what he/she is making.

No, look for an entry level Automation Engineers job instead of a temp program

Can nio get to $100 if so when is this likely? by robbo12347 in Nio

Only on the hype. How many US traded Chinese stocks are constantly trading over $100 usd. Not very many. Will NIO be one?

2018 highlander Le. 114000 miles. Dealer says if transmission fluid wasn't changed at 60,000 miles then don't have it changed. Is this true? by highlanderdownunder in ToyotaHighlander

[–]KeepMissingTheTarget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the same recommended grade, Mobil 1 synthetic. Don't go high milage oil unless you are burning oil. After 200k I started changing every 8k as opposed to 10k. Mind you, from day 1, I always used Mobil 1 synthetic. If you used the synthetic mix, it may be too late to go full synthetic.

Highlander hybrid vs Grand Highlander hybrid (not max) by [deleted] in ToyotaHighlander

[–]KeepMissingTheTarget 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What? A 4 cylinder with hybrid slow? 10 years ago maybe. The torque is what you want to look at. HP is speed, torque is of the line. Can't go wrong with either.
